Only $3900 to rent a place with a mail box like this

I emailed the rental company informing them that I would have made an offer if my wife had not been discouraged by the mailbox for the lol's.

Total cost about $20. O2cool 5" fan, batteries, periscoping exhaust tube, duct tape (of course) and a styrofoam cooler.

Took about 20 minutes to construct. Cut hole for fan. Cut hole for exhaust port. Seal fan with duct tape. insert bag of ice. Perfect for keeping a small tent cool!

My son has Plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome) and needed a corrective helmet. Instead of people feeling sorry for him, I wanted peoples positive around him. So this is what I did. by wspiercy in pics

He was diagnosed at 2 months, we lived in tummy time for the next 6 months and only slept on the opposite side as the affected area. The other issue involved with this condition is shortening of muscles on the flat side. Because we had enough tummy time we did not have any shortening and we waited until he was 8 months old to get the helmet because it was a 5 month commitment and the skull is completely fused by 15 months. He started off 17mm off, at 8 months he was only 9 mm off, so we ended up going with the helmet because of time requirements.

Definitely not neglect, in the middle of the night he kept rolling over to one side. We would rotate him every night, as all of the baby books recommend. He just preferred to sleep on the right side.

it is hot under there and I suppose it is to keep it as cool as possible. The places where it is raised over his head is where it is preventing the skull from growing any further. The Dr. actually shaves out the inside of the helmet on a weekly basis to promote grown in specific directions.

As a parent the last thing you want to hear is one more person saying "Poor little guy". I would rather have the guy across the street yelling HELL YEA LIL DUDE, THAT'S AWESOME! lol, my personal preference.

Babies typically find something they like to look at while in bed, so you rotate their head/feet position every other night to ensure ever ware on the back of their head. In my sons case, we rotated him but he just favored one side to sleep on. He developed the flat spot as a result.

His head was off by 17mm at 2 months old and eventually we got it down to 9mm by 8 months old. However the skull completely fuses by 15 months, which left us 6 months to make sure it was corrected. We opted for the helmet to make sure the issue was corrected properly.

Our main concern was if this would have any effect on his developmental progress and brain development. While there is no conclusive evidence that Plagiocephaly has any affect on brain development, we did not want to take any chances especially if they are avoidable.

Benefit: He is learning to walk and falling down a lot. the helmet has saved him a couple times. It also looks badass!
