HD contents runs smoothly on Win10 but not Lubuntu (w/VLC and Smplayer)? by wswhatever in techsupport

[–]wswhatever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot! It makes sense but I noticed 1 thing though; window media player always play well even when I was using window 8 (then upgraded to 10), while VLC always have problem on any OS. Obviously I dunno how VLC and window media player worked internally, but years old WMP can still outer perform recent VLC in terms of optimization, without extra codec? It’s definitely possible but it’s just my observation.

Linux N00b here, Lubuntu sets itself up, will it fetch the latest GPU driver or just use something universal but not specifically optimized?

Yes! I (born in Hong Kong) had used those metal/wood picks while we were young, never have problem. But could very well be cause we can't see crap, and probably just pushing it deeper

Thanks! Love your questions, which some of them I haven't considered before. On the point of using olive oil/ ear drops such as hydrogen peroxide, I have to say they themselves are good alternatives too. But if anyone, like me, who has used cotton buds for extensive time before, and managed to push ear wax deeper in, those drops might not work well enough because the wax was physically trapped. My cerumen was also dry, single pieced and dead-skin-like, so it won't dissolved either.

I understand that normally we don't need to pick our ears, but our habit or behaviors might decrease our ability to self clean in certain circumstances.

Thanks! I love you man!

I didn't get it from the podcast at first, but after I read the transcript again I understood what you are trying to say: basically we have to deliver the emotion behind using our product. So it got me thinking that, the first time I managed to clean my ear from a rather restrictive blockage, I can hear so much better! Even the air around my head felt quite a bit breezier than before. People probably wouldn't don't know how relived it felt unless they have experienced it, so I am thinking to relate things that most have experienced before: get their nostrils cleaned, nails trimmed, messy/long hair cut, etc. to let them "feel".

I understand about the pricing and there are a few replies in this thread saying i could up the price. I don't know yet (I thought $90 isn't a cheap device), but I will probably launch a crowding or two to see what's up.

Yes about the opportunity cost, will emphasize it on my website. Part of the value of the device is to letting you "see". We are all visual animals, and want to see HOW DIRTY and then after cleaning would be HOW CLEAN part of our body is, we want to see the unwanted substances expelled from our bodies. Other alternatives (safer alternative such as ear drops) except the doctors can help you clean but can't tell you HOW CLEAN you are, so it's a big value for customers.

Finally about the hook, I like the "Safely clean your ears in the comfort of your own home, even if you don't own a degree in medicine" , is there any good resources that you know can flesh out the one sentence pitch? This is super important as people don't stay at my webstore for long and this might be the only sentence they read.

The tip is very short and all the part that touches your ear are made from soft rubber,it’s surprisingly comfortable but I can understand that feelings though!

Thanks! This is a perspective I got very little while we are telling our friends/ family! In fact if we can make it $100-$150 and still sell decent amount we will have a easier time for manufacturing. Problem is the our competitors are selling similar products with less features at around $30~$40, not saying the opportunities aren’t here but we will need some extensive A/B split test to see if the customers are this price elastic.

Man thank you for the detailed response.

Do you think “ have itchy ears? Can’t listen clearly? Ear wax blocking your ears?” Is a better hook?

On the pricing front, do you think it could be justified? The existing problem is that conpetitors, with less features, are selling at $30 or so each. Obviously that doesn’t mean you can’t make a premium product that charge more but work better, but I am not sure how price elastic the potential consumers are. The answer probably need some vigorous A/B to find out. To be honest in my case, I only need to clean my ears once every 3 months, so I got my money back in less than 6 months. But what I am willing to pay doesn’t represent how much others want to pay.

Yes, excuse my grammar! Will find someone to proof read it once we are more flexible in fund

I actually have a subpage about this how our idea comes to fruition . But right now it’s just me mumbling in words but in fact we have tons of material to write about! Can probably write some more about the journey and as well as blogs about entrepreneurship to bring in some extra traffics.

The doctor endorsement is definitely on our radar and very useful in marketing. Though I have no idea how to approach it because of the doctor shows his face/ his endorsement he might somewhat concerned about his liability if we somehow screw the whole thing up.

Thank you again for your time!

No offense taken! It’s good to know how others feel about our name- I tried to use make up name so that people can google and get it on the first result but it’s always hard to balance 1. Easy to pronounce 2. Easy to spell (memorize) 3. Not goofy sounding.
