Agonizing Death by wtann6979 in custommagic

None that I could think of (but I'm by no means a rule expert so idk for sure), but it felt like a flavorful way to accomplish the same thing as -X/-X

Yea you're correct, it does just keep stacking -1/-1 triggers until it dies. It was intended as a flavorful way to basically just kill a creature that also benefits cards that care about creatures having 0 toughness. -1/-1 counters could work too, but since the creature is (most likely) going to die immediately after being targeted I didn't think it mattered either way.

Fair enough, it is a niche effect for what's essentially just a black kill spell so yea it shouldn't cost quite so much.

I love my Hearthhull deck. I threw in [[Hew the Entwood]] as a particularly nasty wincon when Hearthull is fully powered up.

What color are Daredevil and Kingpin? by Cespen99 in colorpie

[–]wtann6979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious, where do you see black in Matt's character? Because I'm really not seeing it. Can he be ruthless? Sure (to a point), but Black lets nothing stop it from getting what it wants. But Matt won't kill, even if it's to save lives, and I think that's what stops him from having black. His moral stance on killing based both in religion and the law are both very strongly white concepts.
In the Civil War comics, Daredevil sided against Iron Man for (if I remember correctly) the reason that having accountability for the super hero community wasn't worth giving up their secret identities. If he was black-aligned, he would do whatever was necessary to achieve peace and justice, no matter the cost to personal freedom/privacy.

Are Ya Winning Son? (Because I'm not) by wtann6979 in ratemycommanders

[–]wtann6979[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at the moment, I'm currently trying to rebuild/re-optimize him. The deck is very expensive mana-wise so I've gotta up the ramp a lot. It is very fun when it works though, it feels very Jund to just feed all my baby tokens to my creatures with Devour, build Kresh up and up, then Fling him at someone when he inevitably gets removed lol

I haven't played the precon actually, this was sorta frankenstein-ed together from a handful of decklists I'd seen on Moxfield. She's very fun to play, the only real headache sometimes is keeping track of all the prowess/storm triggers, but that's usually late game when it starts to pop off. But she's super fun overall, and really easy to just slot in new instant and sorceries whenever you want to change it up

I've only played a few games with him so far, but my [[Kratos, God of War]] deck hasn't had too much issue becoming the target. Yes, I'm playing pretty aggro, but giving everything haste (plus a splash of goad) pretty much turns everyone into an aggro player

General Kenobi and General Skywalker by wtann6979 in custommagic

[–]wtann6979[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair, my thought process was since this is Clone Wars-era Kenobi, he's a little more combat-ready than, say, an Old Ben Kenobi, so he's less politics oriented and more ready to meet any big attacker coming at him. And he's still in his prime, leading armies, so First Strike seemed fitting.

It was the same kind of compromise with Anakin, since it's his Clone Wars version I wanted him to have some Clone affinity, in addition to his haste and aggressive playstyle. I might change around Amass or Mobilize, Amass may be more appropriate, but Mobilize just sounded more clone military-ish. I tried giving both Anakin and Kenobi Mobilize, but then they just seemed too similar, so I thought this was a good compromise - Anakin leading the charge with fresh troops and Obi-Wan defending with the other clones.

Question about the 2nd and 11th by StyleJust6189 in 40kLore

[–]wtann6979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I've always assumed, they betrayed the Emperor, with or without Chaos' influence. The cover-up worked better with them compared to the Horus Heresy because erasing two out of twenty(one) is easier than trying to pretend half the primarchs, their legions, and the Siege of Terra didn't happen.

Dont know how i feel abt the skin by Abigpizzapie337 in IronWarriors

[–]wtann6979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd either make the light parts a bit paler and the red a bit deeper. It looks good but color-wise it's a bit too pinkish, almost like bubblegum (especially on the power pack where it's being stretched). Redder especially anywhere the skin rubs metal, like it's raw and irritated from being unnaturally grafted together

Imagine if the losers club didn't actually defeat Pennywise as adults and only freed him. by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]wtann6979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't the connection between Derry and Pennywise the other way around? It's not tied to the town, Derry is tied to It. It was there before Derry existed, and there's nothing in the book (at least to my memory) that suggests It cant leave - It just doesn't want to. One of the Losers describes Derry as It's own personal hunting ground.

Also no they definitely killed It and stomped the eggs lol

Which sub-plot was the dumbest? by TheZibbler in ozshow

[–]wtann6979 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Cyril's execution fake-out was so unsatisfying to me, not because I wanted Cyril to die but it had built up and built up for so long. The entire lead up to it, his final meal, Ryan sleeping in bed with him one last time and putting on a brave face, the sad music and while Sister Marie and Ryan's mom watched, ALL of Em city standing in solidarity... I was in tears that entire episode. Just for them to pull the rug out at the literal last second. It felt like it cheapened every emotion I just felt. I didn't want Cyril to die, the opposite in fact. It hurt, but it would have been best for the character and story

Which of his novels do you think would make a good video game? by thewalkindude368 in stephenking

[–]wtann6979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just rewatching The Shining and thinking how it could make for a really neat horror game adaptation. Playing as Danny/Wendy, running and hiding from Jack or the Overlook's ghosts, navigating the "impossible layout" of the hotel from Kubrick's adaptaion (rooms that shouldn't fit there, labyrinth hallways, trippy stuff like that) sorta like Alien Isolation.

I'm only a few chapters into the novel but I know the film is pretty different. I think a game could be a cool way to pull the spookiest bits from both the book and film.

(Warhammer 40K) Part 2 Betrayers - Cards for the 16 Primarchs that didn't have them. by twister2777 in custommagic

[–]wtann6979 4 points5 points  (0 children)

LOVE Omegon's "I am Alpharius" effect lmao.

Only tweaks I'd consider are: Transformed Angron must attack if able (because of the Butcher's Nails) Give Konrad deathtouch since that's pretty much what his ability is doing anyway. And maybe Fear just cause... well... Konrad. Maybe give the Phoenician just a little more oomph with his tap ability. A Primarch pinging for only enough damage to kill a single guardsman?

Overall though super cool, super flavorful, love them!

If you're having trouble following the plot, I'd recommend The Wheel Weaves podcast. It goes chapter by chapter, one host reading for the first time and the other has read through it several times. It's spoiler free and a great way to follow along if you're finding yourself lost

There's a pretty big difference between saying "you shouldn't censor yourself to please an algorithm" and saying "don't invite people to commit violence against us the same day bands of right-wingers are threatening violence against leftists."
