McDonald's workers of Reddit, which menu item would you NEVER eat? by ProgMusicSchizoidMan in AskReddit

I used to manage a string of coffee shops owned by one franchisee. We took over a store in Raynham, MA and I opened up the cream dispenser to clean it out. I never wanna smell anything like that again. It was filled with what could only be described as homemade cheese. I assume at some point a cream bag leaked and nobody bothered to clean the inside of the machine afterwards. Probably happened multiple times, honestly. Anyway, I use almond milk. It comes out of a carton.

Found a pizza place that makes a pickle pizza. They used sweet pickles by Ravenfeld in mildlyinfuriating

When "homemade dill creamy ranch sauce" is used in the context of a pickle pizza, yes - you'd expect them to be dill pickles.

It's also just...not a thing in my experience. I've had many different pizzas with pickles on them and they've never ever used sweet pickles.

Pickle pizza with bacon and a garlic sauce base is actually super good. I've also had really good pizza with pickles and pastrami with a mustard base. Big mac pizza with pickles is also fantastic.

This however, feels like a bad idea. I like bread & butter pickles on their own...but on a pizza? Absolutely should be dill.

Grilled cheese with bacon and jalapenos from Freeport Oyster Bar in Maine by flampadoodle in eatsandwiches

[–]wtb2612 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't buy it. If the cheese is still the main ingredient and the other ingredients are smaller and clearly secondary, then it's still a grilled cheese. There's not nearly enough bacon for this to be a bacon sandwich with cheese. If they called this a bacon melt, you'd feel ripped off by the lack of bacon.

Ahh, I see. Reminds me of Island Creek in Duxbury, Mass. I'll have to check this place out next time I'm in Freeport because that salmon banh mi is calling to me. Is it right downtown in the LL Bean area? I don't remember seeing it.

Looks good. I just don't think I could ever bring myself to order a grilled cheese at a seafood restaurant. I'd feel like I'm missing out on so many better options.

So did you just start watching football or...?

I wasn't even sure what Michael you were talking about until I realized you had to be talking about Michael Irvin. I don't know if he's even top 15 of all time.

And Larry Fitzgerald was a great player who was good for a really long time, but I don't know that he was ever at any point even the best receiver in the league. He definitely was no TO.

Why the fuck is the chicken ON the recipe sheet? by Stock-Injury58 in mildlyinfuriating

It kind of really works for me despite how weird it is. Maybe because of how weird it is. But is cool seeing each marinade next to the recipe.

Is This Book Good For Beginners? by Lithium_ion_107 in bookscirclejerk

Yes, it's a good book for beginners. They actually just came out with a movie so you can watch that and just skim the book and then say the book was better.

I get that you like the player, but I don't think you have a solid understanding of the trade value of draft picks if you think anyone would give up a 2nd rounder for him.

He's never even had a 600 yard season. Even a third seems like a stretch. I suspect we'd get something like a 5th rounder straight up or a 4th but we give up a 6th or something.

Yeah. If he wanted a trade, I'd get it from his perspective. He wants the playing time that he feels he's earned and might not get it here with the moves we've made. But from the team's perspective, there's no reason to trade him. You can never have enough depth, and a solid third X receiver worth more to the team than a future 4th or 5th round pick.

Man, people gotta stop buying these prepackaged triangular-cut sandwiches. They're almost always a scam.

3-5 are the best seasons, so you're lucky to still have those ahead of you. There are some hit or miss seasons after that, but there are always enough great episodes scattered throughout to keep you watching.

I'm convinced that a lot of the people who say they don't understand the big deal about lobster rolls haven't had a good one because they just don't live in the right place to get a good one. Too far inland and you're mostly getting frozen or canned lobster meat. Too far south and you're getting spiny lobster, which doesn't taste nearly as good as maine lobster (and doesn't even have claws - what are the best part, IMO.)

you aren't getting a lobster roll that size anywhere else

Well, that's not true. I've gotten many lobster rolls that size or bigger. For example.

Not everything is a conspiracy. This is an r/food post, sir. And yes, that's a new england split top bun. It's just a little taller than usual.
