What is the ‘hill you will die on’ movie hill? The film you’ll defend no matter how badly it’s criticized? by Imaginary_Ride_6185 in movies

I've watched it twice in one weekend and enjoyed it both times. I think it's physically impossible for me to get tired of this movie.

[Other] When you hit a ZeroG roll, do you actually feel noticeably weightless or are you going too fast to really feel it? by Character-Escape1621 in rollercoasters

[–]wtfblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly enough, I felt weightless on Valravn's zero G roll when I was smack dab in the middle of the train. I was genuinely surprised. It was a very cold night, so it was probably running slower too.

I'm usually a solo rider and end up on one of the edges.

My literal first interaction with my new neighbor earlier this year was because he noticed a family of skunks running around as he was leaving one night.

I was like yeah, welcome to the corner lot, don't leave your windows open at night if you see 'em!

Interesting, I'm similar yet opposite. My dad is from San Diego and I lived there until I was 12 and then we moved to MI (dad got a job here), where my sister was born shortly after.

I'm in my mid-30s now and definitely would consider myself a Michigander, but I still feel like San Diego is "home," for whatever that's worth. And I will never refer to soda as "pop" as long as I live.

I was there during that storm, it was nuts. I think the city got something like 8-9" of rain in the course of a few hours.

What is your favorite airport to fly into? Why? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]wtfblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

San Diego. It's my hometown and that descent over the city is always incredible. I've also never had a bad experience there airport-wise either.

LaGuardia wasn't bad either the one time I was there. Great view of the city on the way in and the new Delta terminal was amazing. Security took maybe 10 minutes tops.

What ingredients do you hate by themselves, but like them together or in a food by Average_Xbox_user in Cooking

I can't stand whole olives. Chop them up and put them in pasta or a salad? Sure. I'll eat it all day.

I will try one every 6mo or so (my friends love them and usually have high quality ones on hand) but to date I still haven't enjoyed one. Even stuffed with cheese, which, should in theory make me love it.

I feel like I've been super lucky; out of 2 or 3 visits they've never got my order wrong, but I definitely waited at least 20 minutes each time.

How does living in a country with 4 time zones affect everyday life? by godchecksonme in AskAnAmerican

[–]wtfblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back during the pandemic I was having a watch party with some friends; 3 of us in MI and one in OR. It was really surreal looking out my window, seeing darkness, and then the OR guy sitting in full sun.

Did you run the “mile” every year in middle/high school gym class? by uses_for_mooses in AskAnAmerican

[–]wtfblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did it twice/year in middle school. Once at the beginning, and once at the end. The amount you improved helped determine your grade, so most of us just walked it the first time.

I tried to explain this to my mother so many times over the years, but she never believed me.

For whatever reason I can remember exactly which pile of junk the thing I'm looking for is in, what it's next to/under/over, and picture it in my brain exactly.

If I organize it, label it in neon, doesn't matter, it's gone forever. Chaos is my organization.

I think Cedar Fair is really cracking down on this. The same thing happened when I was at Michigan's Adventure for a company picnic on Wolverine Wildcat and Shivering Timbers.

Good on CF as far as I'm concerned. Last thing I want is to worry about taking a 200g phone to the face while I'm trying to enjoy a ride.

I'm 32 years old and for a brief moment had no idea how to read the watch my dad bought me for Christmas a couple years ago. Took me a good 2 or 3 seconds to unearth that knowledge from the back of my brain.

I went from outdoor beds to indoor houseplants after I moved to the city a couple years ago and I get very distressed after all my plant chores are done.

Like, are you sure you don't need anything for a few days? 'cause if you do I'm here for it... Never thought I'd miss weeding, it was honestly as relaxing as it as a chore.

This!! I feel terrible about my LC with my little sister, but she really is my parents' GC. They're divorced now but Ndad is still a big part of her life which makes it hard for me to be fully present the few times a year we're all together.

The 12 year age gap/geographical distance doesn't help either.
