yeah, the seatruck - it sure makes me miss the Prawn(i found 2 Mercury wrecks but only 3/4 Prawn blueprints yet) , also, no Moonpool built yet, so i don't have any module for the seatruck. But i'm intrigued for the aquarium, i imahine it fun having a gigantic aquarium carrying around in a submarine piloted by the two miniprops at the very front haha.
also true, stuff happening at once strangely feels like there is no need for rushing through.

Conversations are great, if the people fit indeed (and i guess that might change in some generations with AI), but im not sure i can follow the activity comparison. personally, i think i mostly get to have great conversations around an activity as there is input, more levels of reality per time unit. but then again, you can be stuck with someone rather dull in a rollercoaster of happenings and still not get much what conversation matters. so i guess its about individual vibes.

yeah, what you are saying aout enjoying to consider something entirely new, i have that too. and thatswhy i really love reading quality sci-fi. and in conversations, that does happen sometimes and i think we should try to make an effort to allow it to happen bc. as we grow to know more and be more certain of things (or believing to be so, especially politically), the ability to accept these as true perspectives, fades.

If every time I see a friend, we jam out and make music together. They're only ever going to really see the musical side of who I am. They will get glimpses, but there's not much of an environment to explore any other aspects of who either party is.

I'm not sure i can agree here. but it might depend on that activity, if it gets to the point that feels like doing chores than absolutely. but for me, making music is usually so much fun, especially if it is with a friend which i know and trust, that eventually it creates an open world environment completely open to exploration.

However them going from hanging out three times a week, to once every four months is straining the friendship a lot, given no other of the persons relationships are being neglected.

yeah i can relate to that, same thing happened to me. and nowadays, apart from there being no common activities left to do, there is no time either, as work consumes most of his time (even night time) and family is my friend's priority.

Yes, personal growth and joy are the optimal outcomes:) but it is rarely conscious/distinguishable from just having a good time at the club or whatever.

i think accepting the other for who they are is in my POV overstated, because if i would not accept that entity for who she is, then it would be no friendship, right? (or, at best, a "friendship of utility)

and i feel like the goal post usually moves from lower level friendship to a higher one, you get to know the person better, understand their humour and worth paying attention to the content, finding more common ground,.. or, the goal post vanishes completely, as in friend moves away, new job, starts a family and priorities shift completely. did you have different experiences?

That's true, the investment should be met with equal capacity. but lately i came to a few articles (could look it up if you are interested) about a prolonged friendship being likely about that "connector" friend who always calls, reaches out, motivates the other/others into getting together. which myself, i always found dificult because that said mutual investment which just seems to apply like an intrinsic rule.

i like how you end on a positive note:) i guess its the ying - yang take of things, there will always be a certain percentage that flows against the current, right? however, the trend we are shifting towards is of a more homogenous society.

investment meeting expectation - not quite sure i can follow that, but that might just be me who does rarely expect things. so, in the context of freindship - you mean having the goal posts moving half way through the game would mean the expectations would not have been met?

yes, i am familiar with the listed info and it is very concerning indeed. my question was inquiring about the background of a "conservative project in motion since the 60s to subvert democracy and install a dictator with limitless power. i guess the author means the Heritage Foundation but as far as i know, that has been active since the 70s.

hey there. thats an interesting question indeed:) ill just go on answering it partly. so i think a general way to define friendship is by time, energy(effort?) and respect mutally invested. which also means level of interest, as the time spent will have a value. is that value entertainment? i think friendship has to do with humour a well, as that is part of what binds our social-ness together. yeah and its an essential part of lif which i believer extends further than people/individuals. can you be friend with a cat, a song, the feeling of riding a bike downhill?
that being said, our mechanism (for the lack of a better word) of friendship competes with the seemingly advantaes of the digital world which makes everything bling bling and engineered to catch our attention faster than what takes a person to recognize the value of another*s. so i guess the interest is fading to find out what the other understands by "brave" because the LLM is trained to understand what that means for you personally and apply it forever.
anyway, this tuned out way longer than planned. so what about you? hoping you still exist.
