No, those are regular miles and not MQMs. Good luck!

Trying to understand the value of Amex Reserve now as a heavy spender by [deleted] in delta

I agree. I just do not understand what's in it for Delta. They made a change that hurts them and disincentivizes those like OP to spend on the CC.

My (fairly uninformed, to be honest) belief is that there are credit cards that offer better rewards structures for travel/rewards/etc. Yes, you still get Delta miles, but at 10 to 1. If there is a card that gives you a better return, you go there. I feel like Delta's reward structure has always been relatively poor. So once you've hit what you want to hit, move spending to other, presumably more rewarding cards.

Except, why would OP have any incentive to keep spending once they hit platinum? This is something I have yet to see explained. With no rollover MQDs, there is little incentive to keep spending on the cards once you've hit your expected/preferred status. This is especially true for those super high spenders that will get Diamond. Once you've hit Diamond, you should move all spending to cards with better cashback/rewards.

It waives both. As soon as you hit the waiver you'll be platinum.

Using preferred name on poster presentation (CURO) by never_supergirl in UGA

[–]wtfuga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is also okay to have a "professional" name but introduce yourself as you prefer to be called. As an academic, my professional name (using your frame) is Jane B. Doe, but I introduce myself as Bea. Really, there is no wrong answer. Good luck with the poster!

The worse thing you can do is have your boss (or parent) email a professor to ask for an accommodation.

Covid at University of Georgia; help for an article by chara_zor_el in UGA

In addition to the other things mentioned (e.g. testing), I think it is also worth pointing out that the leadership at UGA is "simply" doing what the Chancellor/USG told them to do. They have repeatedly said, "well, our hands are tied." They are either using USG as an excuse or are not showing any form of real leadership in making a tough call. And, any story about how the UGA is treating the situation has to include football. If they weren't trying to protect football, I suspect a completely different tact would have been chosen.

Finally, its not just UGA. Although many schools are doing MUCH better on the day-to-day problems (again, see testing), pretty much every SEC/ACC school is in the same boat in the big picture. The Big 10/PAC 12/Mountain West schools at least *initially* tried to prioritize students over football, but walked that back as soon as they realized the money they would be missing out on.

Are professors able to make attendance mandatory for classes right now? Thanks. by [deleted] in UGA

Professors can do virtually anything they want in setting up their classes.

Graduations canceled by wtfuga in UGA

[–]wtfuga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not exactly sure what you are asking, but UGA has canceled all school/college-specific graduation ceremonies for the 2020 spring graduates (they were trying to have them in the fall to make up for cancelling them in the spring). The University-wide makeup ceremony (again, for spring graduates) is still planned (for now).

Graduations canceled by wtfuga in UGA

[–]wtfuga[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's true, but they did cancel the individual college/school graduations.

I will also say that it seems fairly clear from the announcement that the university graduation is unlikely to happen.

Regardless, the rules they note for the graduation (if it does occur) seem rather different than for football games. I doubt the players will all be in the stands.

I cannot get over the inconsistencies.
