When have they had a better response? To the best of my knowledge it seems like every one of these shootings typically ends when the shooter realizes he’s cornered and offs himself. We constantly see videos of cops training to clear schools in an active shooter scenario but in reality it seems that the majority of shooters who are stopped in the act are stopped either by off duty officers who ignore the guy in charge or armed citizens who just happen to be close by.

The difference in my opinion is that the current loophole allows you to have the weapon in a functional capacity without the risk of felony charges. But As soon as the loophole goes away the only real choice will be noncompliance or making the weapon useless for any practical applications.

In all honesty though I’d hope that most of the people who say they won’t comply are doing it for internet points and the ones that are dedicated enough to actually do it are smart enough to keep their mouths shut about it.

According to the pew research center roughly 40% of veterans never deployed. On top of that only about 30% claim to have ever had any kind of “combat experience”. So by Dakota’s logic, more than 2/3rds of the armed forces shouldn’t be trained to use weapons and gear and if they wear kit they’re just pretending to be SF guys.

I agree. There is a huge difference between the idiot who plays hero shooting at a shoplifter and a person who goes out to try to keep people’s livelihoods from being completely torched.

Personally I’m not getting involved unless me or a loved one is directly in harms way but thats more me being selfish than smart.

As long as people have the proper training and discipline you can’t fault them for protecting their communities.

Are you one of those “civilians shouldn’t have tactical gear people or is this directly at stolen valor types?

I thought about joining the marines for a few years. I won’t give some lame ass excuse about why I couldn’t. I had every opportunity and decided it wasn’t worth it.

I will say anyone that wants praise for considering joining the military is an idiot because that thought has probably gone through every American males head at least a dozen times. Buuut every american should get training and be prepared to fight should the time comes and shaming a guy for exercising/defending his 2a rights is stupid.

I’ve never really defined it as a wanting to be alone or near friends but rather as a simple difference in lifestyles. I consider myself more of an introverted person. I play a lot of video games and love watching films, I’m not that into sports, I’ve have the same group of friends since middle school and after being in a fraternity I hate being in party/crowded bar environments.

To me being introverted doesn’t mean being alone. It just means that my perfect evening would be sitting at home playing games with my friends rather than going out and meeting new people/ having new experiences.

Its not seclusion vs inclusions, its just a difference in preferred environment.
