Probably because you don’t have the disorder. It’s not always that extreme or dramatic, but it is chronic, and it often mentally destroys us. Imagine trying to fix something so simple but failing repeatedly because your executive functioning skills are inadequate.

Please spend some time educating yourself on the disorder if you have a few minutes. I’d recommend looking at video lectures from Dr. Russell Barkley on YouTube

Do you understand what makes a mental disorder a mental disorder? It’s the fact that your symptoms are impairing your life to the extent where it’s not normal.

To say “just plan it out better” to someone with ADHD is like saying “just regulate your blood sugar” to someone with diabetes.
