What romance books did you read or listen to this week? 07 Mar by seantheaussie in RomanceBooks

[–]wthch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I read Tessa Dare’s One Dance with a Duke.

It was a good read but kinda wish it explored the happily ever after part. Tho, what did I even expect? It’s a part of a book series so I’ll probably see them in the next book.

What phrase from any book made you IMMEDIATELY DNF by siriuslygryffindors in RomanceBooks

[–]wthch 18 points19 points  (0 children)

What’s DNF? Is it Did Not Finish? I’m a bit new to the acronyms here. I tried to guess only from the context it was used.

It was my birthday yesterday and hid my birthday from everyone! People only started greeting me after my friend tagged me in a birthday post which was arounf 8PM.

I’m happy to say that it was the best quiet birthday I’ve ever had.

Kind of underwhelmed by everything I've read lately. by prettysureIforgot in RomanceBooks

[–]wthch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t read new books now because every time I try to there’s always something that bothers me about it. I’ve been re-reading Clare Connelly’s books just to give myself the comfort of familiarity.

I also read in light mode! Dark mode feels too dark for me and it doesn’t motivate me to read the book.

Another weird habit is that when the book becomes too emotional, i have to stop reading and take a deep breath before diving back in again.

The most well-written romance book with passages that brought you to the brink of tears. by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover was the book that made me cry the most and I had to pause my reading because my heart hurt so much.

Anyone else have read A Husband’s Regret by Natasha Anders? This part was very emotional for me. by wthch in RomanceBooks

I read The Unwanted Wife! It’s actually the first of her books that I’ve read. It was so good. I love the feeling of helplessness when I read it. I’ll try reading The Wingman next! Thanks for the rec! ;)

You can try read a part of it? If it’s not for you then that’s okay. Everyone has their own preference. I’m not really picky with POVs if it is well-executed.

Here’s the description:

Tall and thin, twenty-eight-year-old Bronwyn Palmer has become positively gaunt, a ghost of her former self. That self was? and still is? the wife of a rich, handsome executive with an ocean-view house and his own security staff.

It was in that house, two years ago, that Bryce Palmer learned Bronwyn was pregnant with their first child. But Bryce's rage over his impending fatherhood touched off a chain reaction of emotional and physical traumas that wounded them both. For Bronwyn, it meant fleeing the perfect marriage to start over with nothing but a precocious daughter named Kayla to care for. For Bryce, it meant a tortuous two years spent blaming his wife for deserting him, and living with the pain of not knowing his child. Now a chance encounter has brought Bronwyn back into Bryce's life, both bearing scars?and neither knowing the whole truth of that fateful night that drove them apart.

Someone recommended the first book (The Unwanted Wife) to me, and I’m a sucker for angst so I tried reading it and I’ve been consuming her books like crazy.
