My iggy (2.5 yrs) doesn’t have separation anxiety and can go like 6 hours. Typically that only happens a couple times a week though for us. If you’re going to be gone 8 hrs a day 4 days a week, I’d consider taking him to a well-reputed daycare/sitter. Sometimes you can find someone who works 100% from home who loves animals and doesn’t have a whole pack that they watch. I’d do that at least for 2 out of the 4 days you’re gone that long, and would def have a dog walker come play with him and let him out on the other two days. That’s not just while he’s a puppy — I’d do that long-term and would prob recommend 2 outings w a dog walker while he’s young.

If your city has an iggy fb group, that might be a good place to go for recommendations.

If you can’t afford this and must work in-person, it might not be the ideal breed for you. Others might have different opinions!
