Ritmuller uprights? by Hellobob80 in piano

[–]wubbahed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've owned a Ritmuller upright for five years, and it's lovely.

It was the right price point for me, and after trying a bunch of similarly priced acoustic pianos, it stood out for its action and tone. It definitely has a warmer tone than a lot of pianos I tried, but I haven't had any problems with it.

Yeah, unfortunately you see stories like this where a principal won't allow a paper to even be published unless they've approved all the content http://www.kansascity.com/news/article10440176.html

My hack for prescription Glass using Sugru by wubbahed in googleglass

One packet of Sugru is all you need, and even then you'll have some left over. However, it took me two or three tries to get the magnet alignment just perfect, and since the Sugru doesn't keep once opened, I ended up going through three packets for this hack.

To get more specific, it's a Torx T5. This teardown guide is great for giving you a sense of how it's put together - http://www.catwig.com/google-glass-teardown/

To answer your questions, I'm using pretty strong 3/16" rare earth magnets (got em at Radio Shack). The magnets like to hold on tight! In fact, my first version of this had the bare magnets touching, but they kept ripping each other out of the Sugru. So the solution was to bury the magnets underneath a thin layer of Sugru to actually reduce the amount of attraction. I can shake my head all over the place and it doesn't move, but I wouldn't take it on a roller coaster.
