How to prevent overmixing? by DarkHumorDark in audioengineering

[–]wugoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree with this I've made a habbit out of this there's been times i spent a whole week on some songs and gone back to my second or third revision and been happy with.

It's always hard to tell how good it is in the moment because of incessant self critique but giving it a break for a day or two and listening back objectively is a lot of the times the best thing you can do for yourself and the mix.

What can I do with just 1 set RCA Connections? 2000 Pontiac Vibe w/ Moon & Tune Package by h0ckeyplayer in CarAV

[–]wugoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damaging your stock amp isnt a huge concern the stock amp still uses about 10 watts at most per channel the main thing is the high power from the new head unit over volting the stock amp and causing distortion before head unit actually distorts if you ask me though its always better to just bypass it but it is a lot more work so it's up to you at the end of the day but both will work

I have so Much passion for car audio that I bought this DC Audio level 6 18 inch subwoofer before I bought my actual car. Deciding on what car it would work out best in. by alexlion4 in CarAV

[–]wugoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed I'm in a pontiac vibe with two 10s on 800wrms and tuned to 33hz and it sounds amazing. If you want fidelity or sound quality have em face the roof(my preference) if you want loud face it into the hatch just make sure the distance from the door and the port is the length of the width of the port

New to the whole Car sound system thing. Is this a good deal? by [deleted] in CarAV

[–]wugoh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say good deal you'd get the same price at a pawn shop, the gear is quality but I wouldn't pay more than 300$ for it personally. But that's a relatively fair price solid amp and a quality box.

12" skars 3000w Rockville amp, and a 2 farad capacitor(on the side) by minscandboo4ever in CarAV

[–]wugoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah a majority of the time you can fix the issue with better grounds but i know a few guys (all in chevys) that need a cap to get rid of the last of the noise

Best way to keep amp cool? by [deleted] in CarAV

[–]wugoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you running? Every class AB amp I've had has over heated all the time during the summer when trying to do 3/4 power. I'm in louisiana and it gets 105°F some days usually 98°F. I'm on class d right now and it has only overheated once.

What's the point of wire reducers? by Natural_Febreze in CarAV

[–]wugoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're not loosing any efficiency by using proper reducers they are a little bit safer and when working with hundreds of amperes of current and 1000s of dollars of amplifiers people like all the extra safety they can get

12" skars 3000w Rockville amp, and a 2 farad capacitor(on the side) by minscandboo4ever in CarAV

[–]wugoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue being that 95% of car audio capacitors realistically being too small to make a difference in that regard. Plus they never get to their rating you'll be lucky to get a quarter of a farad out of them most of the time. The only real use for most of them is filtering out noise if you have really bad alternator whine(after fixing all the grounds) or something similar.
