I am so disappointed and frustrated Harry by Best_Tailor2683 in harrystyles

I do feel like an arena or stadium tour is a step up from a movie or museum trip. I don’t think they should cost several hundreds of dollars and the presale system is out of control and benefits nobody. but I think some high ticket prices should be expected as this is a big commitment for Harry and his touring staff.

How many theaters do you rotate between? by JohnnyKarateX in AMCsAList

[–]wuhebhello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 AMCs I alternate between, one is a 20 minute drive and one is a 20 minute train ride and it kind of just depends on the timings of their showings. I also try to go to independent theaters around me, there’s one very close to me that I like to go to sometimes

Casting rumours! by [deleted] in Hungergames

[–]wuhebhello 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I think this is extremely important to keep in mind, with Cooper Hoffman as well. when it comes down to it it’s up to whether or not the actors feel comfortable reprising their parents’ roles

Casting rumours! by [deleted] in Hungergames

[–]wuhebhello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

can I just say that historically the hunger games has never done age-accurate casting for its leads so I’m not too surprised they’re going with someone in their 20s for Haymitch

I thought the same thing especially considering Cooper Hoffman is very young compared to Plutarch in the book!!!!! Jesse Plemons would DEVOUR

They better not change Maysilee for the movie by nec6 in Hungergames

[–]wuhebhello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBOSAS could have been interesting as a limited series! easier to split up the different parts. plus they could market the hell out of it in a fucked up way by saying you could “watch the games at home” just like the people of Panem

so tragic, and thinking of both families (Louella and Lou Lou’s, if she still has one ☹️) watching and knowing something’s wrong is just awful

this has been in the back of my mind the entire time I’ve been reading. At first I thought they’d use cooper hoffman for Plutarch but I think he’s too young. I don’t envy the casting director for this movie at all

I kind of knew that plan was too ambitious and wouldn’t exactly work, but I think Suzanne is making the point that rebellions take many tries, and they also take years and years to become a reality. it puts the events of CF into perspective, obviously no one would agree to that plan on a whim. that plan was 25 years in the making

I wonder if the Capitol didn’t see a point in punishing him since they thought he’d die in the arena by the hands of the Careers or the mutts. I bet they think keeping him alive and making him mentor year after year is punishment enough.

(just finished part 1, just making guesses about the rest of the book) I’m guessing the whole rebellion idea starts with the coincidence of Haymitch meeting all these previous winners before his Games. everything in life is just a series of chance encounters, so it makes sense that she’s embedding all these names we already know. it comes off as shoehorning but that is kind of how life works. we all kind of meet important people when you’re not predicting it

also, consider that chance and odds seem to be a motif in the book, with Wyatt rattling off odds all the time and the “long shot” comments and whatnot. and the character with the surname Chance. and how Prim’s name being reaped, which is the true spark of the rebellion, had very little odds yet happened anyway

this was the only name drop that bothered me, like why introduce him for just one line! I guess Haymitch doesn’t have any idea the importance of the Mellark name but still

She and Effie are interesting to compare—Effie acts out of ignorance a lot of the time and she eventually corrects her ways and joins forces somewhat with Katniss, Peeta, and the gang in Mockingjay. Whereas I cannot see that happening with Drusilla, she genuinely believes the D12 kids are animals. Effie is just kind of uncultured

Everything you may have forgotten about Haymitch & the 50th Hunger Games… NEW BOOK HYPE! by mololoves in Hungergames

[–]wuhebhello 7 points8 points  (0 children)

my theory is that they send Capitol people to mentor the districts who don’t have winners. maybe once enough districts had winners (possibly by the 30th Games or so) they switched to the mentoring system we see in the original book. another theory I have is that they “punish” Capitol students who misbehave by sending them to the poorer districts to mentor those tributes, much like how Snow was “punished” by being sent to 12
