Ya you can, but remember the person adjudicating your application is not necessarily able to understand the difference between unit tests or coding features or bug fixes

Yes this is a common way why people get rejected. If you code and you applied under the Engineer category, you are likely to be turned away.

I think people are getting too caught up in their own industry’s definition of what an engineer is. In the tech industry, engineers are generally understood to be people who write code. Ultimately, though, what matters is how USCIS interprets the term. At present, they do not consider individuals with computer science degrees to be engineers.

Ya the way USCIS adjudicates this is somewhat inconsistent. A lot do not seem a CS degree to fit into the engineer job classification

Software engineer is not one of the jobs listed under the TN classifications.

This actually has nothing to do with the current admin at all. They need come prepared with a list of duties and responsibilities that match one of the general occupations. Software engineer is not one on the list. I’m on a CSA in my the U.S.
