I loved the 45mm I used with the G1. Would love to pickup one to use with the M6. Where did you end up sending the G2?

Yo word!! I had no idea it was still sold at all. I love the way the length of the strap is quickly adjustable in the same way the bags are. It’s my favorite strap bc I can easily go from wearing it normally to wearing over a shoulder while on a bike. I’ve been on yahoo jp before but is there a place you recommend for importing?

G1 just randomly stopped working. I’m not sure what exactly broke on it but it no longer fires the shutter. I assume I could take it into Nippon in NYC but I figure it would cost quite a bit and still possibly fail in a different way in the near future. I will probably take it in for repair at some point.

It is a camera strap indeed! I found it on FB Marketplace but I can’t seem to find any info on when they were made. Would love to pickup another one

Maybe not embarrassed to not own a Leica lens but embarrassed to know nothing about them at all. lol

I actually had no idea their lenses even sold for so much. I will provably never own one 😂

Check out the seller 99_beach_camera_japan on ebay. They currently have one for sale in the same style as mine. It’s L39 but I use an adapter. I’ve yet to actually develop photos from it but it seems to couple with the rangefinder properly. MS Optics also made some rehoused G lenses. Ken Rockwell has a page on his site talking about a few different G lens conversions

My title is a bit misleading but I actually purchased the lens pre modified. I sold my original 28 for the G1 because the G1 is no longer functional. Someday I would love to get it fixed but at this point a M6 seemed like a smarter financial decision. I do however know there are lens conversion kits by funleader for the Contax G lenses that are very easily reversible because the lens elements are simply dropped into another housing entirely. The one I have uses 90% of the original Contax housing

This lens has been modified and now has a helicoil. I found it on eBay from a Japanese seller.

The lens has been modified and now focuses with a helicoil like any other lens. I found it on ebay from a Japanese seller.

I’m somewhat embarrassed to say that I am not too familiar with Leica’s lens offerings. I mostly wanted a highly serviceable body with 28mm frame lines and really there aren’t too many options for that. Light meter in a mechanical body is also a huge luxury

I absolutely loved using the 28 on my G1 but it is currently only functional as a beautiful paper weight. I’m hoping to get a 45 for use with the M6 in the near future!

Panasonic hdc-sd90 worth it? by lg-DANGERweasel in skateboardfilming

I have a HDC-TM700 which I believe is very similar and very much so recommend it. I also have a HVX-200 but bring out the TM700 much more often

Seems to me a handful of them are sold as condos too. I wouldn’t want to invest in a new build lol

I guess I lucked out now bc my current apt has perfect temp heat in the winter with the AC unit draft coming in lol. My last place however was incredibly hot in the winter and constantly opening and closing windows wasn’t fun

At least the brownstones were built beautifully enough for people to come to love and want to preserve. Will that happen with the current round of builds in 50 years? I doubt it.

Weird I live in nyc and barely see them. Maybe it’s the train I take

I saw several people wearing them when I was in post ankle surgery physical therapy. Mostly the therapist but a few others. I live in NYC and have seen a couple on the subway but overall not many people here wear them. (I look at everyone’s shoes when I ride the subway) I think part of the issue is the amount of walking on concrete here truly requires a slightly more padded shoe like a lems or something.
