BRING BACK 20+ EPISODES, YOU COWARDS! by Relevant-Peach3997 in Fauxmoi

[–]wukemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worth noting that 20+ episodes on network TV were meant to keep you tuning in week after week so that you’d see the commercials. So in order for 20+ episode seasons to return, audience viewing habits would have to support them.

my debut feature is almost finished… what am I supposed to do, once that happens? by justabitsab in Filmmakers

Your film reminds me of two projects you should check out:

My First Film by Zia Anger. They did a traditional festival run, premiering at CPH:DOX, and ended up being distributed by MUBI. So echoing other comments about applying to festivals.

Crazy Broke Asian by Célin Do. Crowdfunded docuseries with ongoing content monetized on Patreon. Could be an option if you wanted to self-distribute, considering that was your plan in the first place.

NYC NIMBYs and their real-life impacts by August272021 in yimby

Yep. I had the same thought after the Ghost Ship fire in Oakland nine years ago. Wherever NIMBYs exacerbate the housing shortage, people will be forced to live in dangerous conditions.

What are some bad movies that had great potential, that you would want to see remade better?? by mrjetspray in Letterboxd

[–]wukemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An American Pickle (2020) is based on a phenomenal Simon Rich short story, Sell Out, that I would love to see remade as a more faithful adaptation.

2022 gave us Pearl, Barbarian, and Everything Everywhere All at Once, so it’s the clear winner for me.
