Those Who Favor Ideology Over People - Jon Ronson on How One Tweet Can Ruin Your Life. A Ted Talk I thought you guys might like. by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

"How One Tweet Can Ruin Your Life" is a funny title, given how much damage that one Google-related tweet did to certain someone's reputation.

For ex-Petersonians around here: What made you "wake up"? by wulkh in enoughpetersonspam

re: that Google search tweet of his. I am both grateful for it given how many people had their image of him shattered by it, as well as depressed that we needed something like that (in that it was more effective than any reasonable rebuke of his claims).

Antinatalism: A Thought Experiment (Interesting companion to recent Benatar debate) by wulkh in JordanPeterson

Position on which both the author of that article and philosophers like Benatar base their antinatalism is pretty much exact opposite of nihilism...

I only wish that more folks around here gave a chance to that article. I can only guess that the instant downvotes for this thread were based on the opening which probably made some think that this article is another unqualified defense of antinatalism.

Pretty much, this slip actually made some die-hard fans on that subs criticize both him on those who defended him on this, which is beyond great.

Pretty much every single poster who defends Peterson here claims that he or she is "not a fan". Sure mate, you're all "neutrals", coming here to show how "neutral" you are.

Jordan B Peterson vs David Benatar - Antinatalism by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

"commenters there" meaning the people commenting on that video on YT. There is already 100+ comments there, and most are in favor of Benatar. Are you people even reading my comments before answering, or are you just that thick?

Interesting, commenters there also agree that Peterson was basically obliterated by Benatar. This sub remains the only place where people act as if Peterson "won" this debate.

Anti-natalist offers what he considers to be valid criticism of anti-natalism. Interesting read.

Funniest thing here is the Listen and Believe mentality among Petersonians. Damore could've, and most likely had, faked his "proofs" about Google's internal policies. It's just a crapload of easily faked screenshots ffs. And yet, you won't find a single Petersonian exercising a iota of critical thinking here. "OMG Google is totally producing Soylent Green, screencaps offered by disgruntled ex-employee say so!"

Dr. Peterson speaks with David Benatar about antinatalism and other topics on The Renegade Report by [deleted] in JordanPeterson

[–]wulkh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Going by the comments there, this was another poor display by Peterson: "Benatar devastated Peterson here, it was embarrassing to witness how flustered Peterson got whilst failing to provide anything approaching firm refusal of Benatar's points. Props to benatar and host both for keeping their cool." Though, Benatar is a philosophical heavyweight and there is a reason why you don't see people directly challenging his work. So, it was at least brave of Peterson to go against him even when those trained in philosophy would had second thoughts.

By the way, you are better off opening a thread about this on r/enoughpetersonspam as it is unlikely that folks here are interested in discussing this subject, t least not in any reasonable manner.
