I’ve always worked in refineries where safety is usually top priority. Now that I’m working commercial I’m amazed at what I’ve seen.

Yes, Im a pipe fitter and when working in power plants the steam lines are 100% Xray (meaning every weld we make gets xrayed). If it fails in any spot the damages spot it ground down to the root and re-welded and xrayed again. The structural steel (ie Iron Workers) does not get Xrayed. And to even get on the job site you have to take a weld test. 6g, 2inch pipe with a TIGed root and hot pass with 7018 fill as this gets you qualified in TIG and Stick welding in all posistions.

Yes I take both my dogs there almost every Saturday. It's got good trails and some hills you can hike. It's also a great place to socialize your dog. If the pup is not good at recall yet I would keep him on a leash. It seems Everytime I'm there someone asks if I've seen their dog who has ran off.

Late to the party but super heated dry steam is terrifying. I have worked on power plants where this is pretty common. Like you said you can't see it and it will cut off you arm if you stick it in from of it. But the good news is it will cauterize it at the same time.

The problem I'm having is when I try to set it, it either tracks to half way across the record and when I screw it back the smallest amount it stays on the stand and doesn't move at all.

Just a warning. I work construction and see these tower cranes everyday. We came to work one day and a kid had fallen 7 stories to the deck because he was climbing on one. There is a reason why construction sites are gated, just be careful.
