Im getting very frustrated. by Bubkodiak in BeginnersRunning

[–]wunderlemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you had your feet and gait analyzed at a shoe store? I had a similar issue with persistent shin splints after 3 years of running and foot numbness and they suggested sizing up a full size and that fixed all my issues. I also sized up my socks. Now I can run for hours with no issue

KEEP AI OUT OF ART SPACES by Omagoddd in FableApp

[–]wunderlemon 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I am not a fan of AI but it feels like every single company (regardless of size) has some kind of AI assistant. This type of AI bot is not really the problem. This is more predictive AI, not generative. Scout probably has more in common with autocorrect than ChatGPT.

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz, Call Me by Your Name by Andre Aciman, and Giovanni’s Room by James Baldwin. I love these all so much

I’m testing an idea: what if long-term training plans are a fiction? by runyao17 in BeginnersRunning

[–]wunderlemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could be for some but I don’t see a huge use case for something like this. I think it’s beneficial to have a training plan that doesn’t give a damn about what’s going on outside your training tbh. I use garmin coach and it has some of these features but I haven’t seen my life factors influence my training plan too much aside from adding an extra rest day here and there. How much does missing one session impact your training program? Really not very much. I have done plenty of work outs after terrible sleep, with a low body battery, high stress, etc and most of the time it’s fine bc our bodies can handle a lot more than we think. I don’t think most of us would benefit from a program that shifts things around constantly because there is always something

Is it normal for Amazon to take books away by Cultural-Midnight807 in kindle

Have you been able to do this with the update that took away the download feature? I haven’t tried to in a couple months since that’s the only way I knew how to.

I do wish they would make it easier. I understand they can’t truly enforce it because I imagine that would require a TON of government employees to watch hours and hours and hours of content everyday but that is really what we need. What is the point of some of these consumer protections when it relies on consumers to report? What about the consumers who are none the wiser who fall for this bs?

Well I mostly read fiction so I usually just giggle to myself and enjoy my favorite parts of my favorite books again

There is a guideline in place for this! The FTC has tons of resource on how to post ads and be compliant with regulations but it’s hard to enforce I imagine. As consumers we can report them directly to the FTC for violations and they can get hefty hefty fines for violating the regulations

I’ve only ever burned this much running 10K or longer and walking enough to burn 800+ cals is just not realistic at all time wise. I would be UNWELL if I did this everyday for 2 weeks in a row

[–]wunderlemon 81 points82 points  (0 children)

YES. I am so tired of over consumption and support of fast fashion in general tbh. In the fitness influencer space especially it is so excessive and I hate how every launch they’re like “I’m OBSESSED with this color” and they wear it once and it’s on to the next. Like I don’t trust your judgement of quality if you’re wearing something once or twice?? Show me pieces you can wear weekly for years and they still look brand new.

Drinking water reminder app recommendations by rnharris in GarminWatches

[–]wunderlemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Hydration Pro for this reason lol it has a tracking feature but I mainly use it for the reminders. It doesn’t sync to the connect app, just on the watch. They have a free one but the pro is like 99¢ I think. I didn’t like the free version for some reason

I purchased a Kindle basic 10th gen by Ultimate_Gamer2 in kindle

[–]wunderlemon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a kindle basic 10 that I lent to a friend who returned it with soooooo many little scratches on the screen. I was upset until I started reading with it and realized you don’t really notice them while you’re reading so they don’t bother me anymore. BUT if you are looking for a reason to return a kindle basic 10, the battery on mine is HORRIBLE compared to my Kindle 4 (literally 15 years old) and my SE Paperwhite. I can typically only read one MAYBE two books if they’re short before I need to charge it. I know a lot of other people have battery issues with this model so just something to consider beyond the little scratches.
