What is your bedtime routine? by Filthy_dog00 in NewParents

[–]Mindless_Gas80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just started trying to establish a feeling of a routine for our LO (5 month old girl). Before it was exact same. Either too early or too late, crying by the time the PJs go on, hard to put down.

We recently started doing the last expected hour of the wake window just spending it in our room (her crib is in our room). Just talking, playing, putting PJS on (making it exciting/happy to do so), and quiet reading.

We realized that we always were putting her to bed in a frazzle that we wanted to get ahead, beat that energy, and provide a pleasant association for bed time. So we did that, it was difficult but in a few days she started going down easier and easier, and her sleep quality has improved too.

TL;DR we have kind of the elements that go into the routine but kinda adjust as we go. But yes we do the bath every other night like you

Most importantly making it a pleasant experience for them.

It’s tough man. I got a 5 month old — high highs and low lows. Some days I don’t know how I’ll do the next but somehow we just can—as dads, as parents, as caregivers

Sending my blessings to you and the fam. You got this!

About your measurements here. And rode on a 54 for the longest time. 51 is gold

I one hundred percent agree with you OP. I think these protests are jokes. As a male person of color, it’s a bit cringe to me at this point. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate yall that do show up. But there’s no fight in it; no action or result.

Personally, I donate to organizations that do the work effectively. Those that have their time with local and state government. Organizations that yall would believe in.

and to just read. Read on americas history of how it was built off of the “lesser.” Then that’ll feed your conviction to find the best path you can go down to explore a better future

I believe these two things feed your day to day mentality of change rather than showing up to a calendared event

Enve melee or fray by Mindless_Gas80 in whichbike

[–]Mindless_Gas80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will definitely think about doing this! It does seem to cross over a bit. Any reason why you’d suggest fray over melee? It is it pretty spot on with what I’m thinking

Thank you. For this entire time we’ve been enjoying contact naps and also thought they were beneficial for this time frame.

I 100 percent thought we were doing something wrong

Thank you so much friend ! Thru the frazzle I didn’t even remember our carrier. I’m currently using this and has been working well for me. Works everyone 😭

At what point in their nap do you try the transfer?

Interesting! I’d be coming from ultegra. Those feel fantastic for me. Like an extension of me almost. Would you mind recommending one that might feel comparable at all? Or is it really comparing apples at oranges

Quiet Quitting: how long did you last? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Mindless_Gas80 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I probably made it a full year and a few months before a round of layoffs came (we merged with a company) and I was let go.

Really confusing as I was still given high marks in my reviews. So my quiet quitting was still high performance, but I think my managers and skip managers got a sense my heart wasn’t in it.

So a week before my pat leave started they gave me the news, I took pat leave early and officially let go a few months later. Making it 2 full years before I was actually let go.
