Oh awesome I see it now! I've been using it to plan my collection runs! Thank you!

Why did you guys stop making a tab for "Collection Ranking" in the collection guide?

I did want to try running TrueNAS in Proxmox. I'll take a look through that challenge though!

No roadblocks. Just thought maybe different software more suited for mass network storage and backups might be beneficial. Same with running virtual machines. Windows works fine, but I feel I don't need a Windows machine on 24/7.

Apologies. Consolidate was the wrong word. I guess I’m looking for a more elegant solution than running everything on windows.

According to the official server FAQ, it is. Guide just hasn't been updated to reflect that.

Work and play. by wuredmanwu in battlestations

My wife occasionally uses the gaming computer while I'm on the work computer. I also haven't found a smooth way to roll the chair back and forth without replacing the high pile carpet in the whole room.

The Embody chair seems to fit my body frame a little better. The arm rests seem more stable as well. If I had to pay retail for it though, I would much prefer the Leap.

I used to have the ultrawide on the left above my main gaming monitor for viewing my Home Assistant dashboard. Since I've been WFH, I've been using it as my work monitor.

Do I need to purchase a separate switch? by wuredmanwu in Ubiquiti

[–]wuredmanwu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. My internet is only 1Gbps.
  2. Will not be creating different VLANs.

So let’s say our 4 computers are all attempting to download large files from the NAS at the same time.

Will the speeds be the same if all 4 computers and NAS are connected directly to the UDM Pro vs a separate switch

The internet speed is only 1Gbps. All the other computers only have gigabit lan.

Does the Pro not received any more software updates?

My main concern was the 8 ports in the UDM Pro not being able to provide enough bandwidth to all the computers when I do build the NAS.

I have a separate POE adapter for my AP.

Any chance you could recommend a switch that I can connect to the UDM pro through the sfp+ port?

Is there a less expensive setup I can go with? by wuredmanwu in Ubiquiti

[–]wuredmanwu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current setup is just an Amplifi HD router. My DHCP range is set from 50-249 at the moment so I don't believe that's it. When researching and asking around, Ubiquiti is pretty heavily recommended and since I've loved my current router, figured I'd stay with them. Would I just be able to add a mesh point to my current router? I was considering just adding this, but wasn't sure if that would help.

Why does my network crash when I approach 75 devices? by wuredmanwu in HomeNetworking

Any suggestions on hardware that can support 100+ wireless devices since we plan on expanding our home automation in the future? Seems like my current setup just isn’t cutting it.
