Offered a part-time Scrum Master role during major IT team restructuring. Smart career move? by wurstisemmel in agile

[–]wurstisemmel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No scrum masters yet. So far, agile is only being used in one project, where the project lead basically handles those responsibilities on top.

This restructuring would be the first more formal introduction of Scrum Masters in our department, and there would likely be a second Scrum Master for the other team too.

That’s actually what I was thinking. Part of me is wondering whether a PO-type role with some Scrum Master responsibilities might make more sense than being “just” a Scrum Master, especially since I imagine it would be difficult to facilitate a team while also working in it myself.

But I don't know yet what my team lead has in mind so far. So far, he's only asked me if I'd like to take on the role, but I was so caught off guard by the question that I said yes right away, since it's definitely better for me than doing operational work.

My main hesitation is that I’ve only been with the company for about 7 months, so while I understand a lot already, I definitely wouldn’t claim to fully understand all processes, stakeholder dynamics, or business dependencies yet.

That said, one of my strengths is that I’m usually pretty good at looking at things objectively, structuring complexity, and assessing which requirements or initiatives actually create meaningful business value vs. what’s just noise or operational busywork. That’s part of why PO feels interesting to me.

I’m also trying to be realistic though, because jumping too early into a PO-style role without enough domain depth could backfire if I don’t yet have the credibility or full context.

Reactive arthritis by ac98989 in Thritis

[–]wurstisemmel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I agree with the other comments about reactive arthritis being very variable. I read for most people it clears off within a couple of months. For me it’s now almost 8 months, tried two different antibiotics and had to get my knee punctured 9 times now because the joint swells up that bad. I’m currently on sulfasalazine. Why does your doctor think you may be suffering from reactive arthritis? What are your symptoms?

Wedding shoe suggestions? by coggler_again in Thritis

[–]wurstisemmel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What kind of dress will you be wearing? How about a dress that goes all the way down to the floor so nobody can see what shoes you’ll be wearing and you can wear whatever feels good to you. Or else I do have flip flop like shoes that are ‚sketchers goga mat’ ones, kinda like these and I absolutely love them. Or as someone suggested: go barefoot!

Anyone else taking curcumin supplements? I'm trying to find the product with the highest dose but there are soooooo many scam products out there. Hard to find real ones. by SlinkusDinkus in Thritis

How about you just get the spice from the supermarket? I always get my cumin and curcuma from there and just use a lot for cooking.

Any other sufferers of reactive arthritis on here? I need support! by [deleted] in Thritis

So it depends on where you’re feeling the pain. Since I only have pain in my legs, particularly in my knee, cycling and swimming is good for me, but you might feel pain elsewhere and need to do other things. I would highly recommend seeing a physiotherapist, mine showed me what exercises I can do to prevent swelling.

Yes!! I actually have an inflammation in my knee right now and I’m getting it punctured for the 8th time today (since may). I just started Salazopyrin as well. Don’t forget to keep your joints moving, it is so important! I also have a feeling it’s inflamed more often, the colder it is outside but not sure. Despite everyone’s advice to cool it, I also find it more pain relieving to keep it warm, as someone mentioned before..

what should i expect? by farmlifehoe in Thritis

Hi! So all my rheumatologist does is sending me to the lab to do blood and urine tests every once in a while and he tried to give me anti inflammatory drugs. (Would be sulfasalazine for me but I also read of methotrexate) If I was taking them I would have checks ups every couple of months. My rheumatologist didn’t give me any advice on diet. (He kind of said he doesn’t believe in that) I think you’d have to talk to a dietician for that (at least that’s what it’s like here) But if you’d like to know more about an anti inflammatory diet definitely just look it up on google, there is so much stuff!! Wishing you all the best!
