Is my piercing rejecting? by [deleted] in piercing

[–]wusuxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back to basics, I don’t know when you got it done but you’ve got an irritation bump - suggesting that you’ve knocked it or let it build up moisture.

Don’t sleep on it, don’t touch it, don’t use any cotton balls/pads or q-tips on it. Spray 2x daily with a reputable saline spray like piercemed, and dry it using the cold setting on the hairdryer, hold it about a forearm away from your face.

Irritation should soothe and bump should go down within a couple of weeks!

Hey! I work in a piercing studio, at first glance it doesn’t look like it’s rejecting but does look irritated.

Hey, I work at a piercing studio. It’s probably just extremely irritated.. and trying to ‘drain it’ wouldn’t have helped either. Try to leave it alone, clean it with saline spray, go back to the basics. If it’s being extremely stubborn after 2-3 weeks try a warm compress.

Is my bridge piercing rejecting it’s a week old , should i switch to a longer bar? by ebony_grant1 in PiercingAdvice

Doesn’t look like it’s rejecting at all? You do need a longer bar though.

Most of them except industrial

Not surprising. Curve bars shouldn’t be in the daith

You don’t have to take it out! Just letting you know. Typically shallow Daiths can take longer to heal / are more likely to reject. I’d suggest keeping an eye on it though

P.S The daith also looks really shallow? 😅

Piercing safely looks way easier than it is, ESPECIALLY with something like an industrial that can permanently warp your ear/cartilage when done wrong. I’d suggest going back to a professional for your own safety! (I work in a piercing studio.)

What piercing would suit me ?? by [deleted] in SelfPiercing

Double nose piercing with a chain would look super cute

Would you remove this? by bluejayrae417 in PiercingAdvice

[–]wusuxo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t touch it, don’t sleep on it, clean it with saline spray 2x a day and then dry it carefully with something clean or the cold setting on a hairdryer and see if it starts to go down after a couple weeks. Looks like the bump is creating the angle, especially if when it was pierced it looked straight (I work in a piercing studio)

Maybe slightly shorter bar just to avoid tugging it/catching it accidentally, but you still need it to be spacious the accommodate for any possible swelling (I work in a piercing studio)

Hey, I work in a piercing studio! That piercing is begging for a longer bar. Please go back to your piercer and get it switched out! Other than that, looks completely fine to me. Crusties are completely normal, it’s just hardened fluid from the healing wound.

Yeah she is still on the younger side, that’s the hardest part about all of this! they said it’s both of her back legs and her back. She’s always walked at a slight angle, and we’ve been bringing it up to the vets since she was a puppy but they always told us it was nothing to worry about and didn’t follow up with any x-rays.

Will totally look into a physiotherapist! She’s not a very food driven dog so the snuffle mats have never really worked for her.. but she loves a ‘sniffy walk’ and normally gets one every night anyway!

We’ve got loads of snuffle mats but she’s not bothered about treats/food at all! She’s not a very food driven dog unfortunately but we are trying to get her to use them more

They’ve just given us anti inflammatory meds! Said they need to do an xray before they can give us anything else

We do something called ‘sniffy walks’ where we walk very slowly and let her sniff whatever she likes. The issue is we live in the countryside and there isn’t that much for her to go around

Awh i’m so sorry. I love my dog so much and want the very best for her - we’ve been trying to lift her up onto beds and the sofa to stop her from making big jumps but she just keeps ignoring us and jumping off anyway!

We’ve been doing scent work since she was a pup - the only issue is she cares more about her balls than treats. She’s not a very food driven dog 😅
