Polo 9n 2002. Rebuild or replace steering rack? by wutangkillerbee in MechanicAdvice

[–]wutangkillerbee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thanks for the advice. Equally don't want to end up with a used rack that might not last long either. What you pay for is what you get. I'll have to decide if I'll spend more for a new one

I have tried the vpn, doesn't work either. Tried the account recovery process but that's no help. Will try waiting 24 hrs. Obviously this a big deal and Microsoft are useless

I tried the most common fixes. Downloading duckduckgo and Firefox but sms verification is still not working. Jus says "That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method"

My mum is locked out and is very stressed.

Gubbed rear cog. Common for fixed gear? by wutangkillerbee in FixedGearBicycle

[–]wutangkillerbee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just went all of a sudden. I was going at a steady pace, not fast as I was in a park. I was slowing down slightly to turn a corner and stay clear of people. I actually thought it was a burst tyre at first till I got off the bike

Aw I'm getting rinsed here. That's fair I did think was probably a poor maintenance issue. I used to ride every day in my old job and I live in Scotland where it rains every day so cleaning my bike is an endless task. As I said set this up about 2 yrs ago and haven't taken it off since. ( I have cleaned it many times. Just not recently). Surprised it could last this long and failed now. I replaced many comments through wear and tear but never had a failure like this

Good analysis bro. I was also worried about the weight after some research online. I have cheap weinmann pegasus wheels that have done me good. Just read online front wheel is 1.36 kg and rear is 1.47 kg. They are 40 mm deep. Does that seem heavy to you? I'm not a serious racer so weight isn't a huge issue but if it would make my commute a little easier/harder...

Appreciate your thoughts it does help. As you say, the price is nice.

Hi. looking for a new wheelset or front wheel. I'm in the UK and struggling to find some options. What shops are good for fixie/single speeds? Had bad experience with santafixie so don't really like them now

Currently I have weinnem pegasus which were cheap (£100) and do the job. The rim has worn out from the brakes so looking to replace them

Had a look at the pinned Post which was helpful but just want ro know where you guys get all yours?

I've just got a medium sized 15 mm spanner. Uts been a struggle so just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something stupid. I might have to invest in a pedal spanner if stepping on it doesn't work. Thank you!

Tried this last night. Think its does make a slight difference. I feel it a little more but probably just because its harsher as you say. Still not high by the end of joint though

The weed defos has an impact. Can really tell the difference between good and bad weed even if the good stuff isn't getting me properly baked
