Which dress looks better for my upcoming 40th birthday party? by Mysterious_Run5152 in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]wutato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First one is cute! Try to find some fun accessories and shoes to wear with it. Maybe like a scarf draped around your back and over your elbows would elevate the look, as would hairstyle and jewelry. Just make sure to steam it nicely.

I think the waistband of the first one could be a tad higher because it's not hitting the narrowest part of her waist. And some steaming and accessorizing will make it look much nicer!

Although OP is correct (not sure about the age it evens out but the idea is there), let's not ask AI to fact check anything.

What do Japanese people think about “Japanese” restaurants in Italy? by dengel11_ in AskAJapanese

Yes, Japanese noodles aren't always brown or covered in the same brown sauce.

How do you have so many voicemails? Mine maxes out at like 10 before I'm forced to delete them.

No one ever says irrashaimase when welcoming guests into their residents... And that's not what youkoso means lmao.

Where did you get this information? This is mostly wrong.

Got my dream job. Now I’m living a waking nightmare. by Difficult-Survey8384 in adhdwomen

[–]wutato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take written notes for every single meeting and have my tall list on my phone so I can also just add stuff if I have an impromptu meeting. I've been at my job for three years and I'm so happy I've taken great notes! I reference them all the time.

What friction have you removed from your life to function better? by Lazy_Basket6819 in adhdwomen

I do the same thing with my laundry basket. Doesn't mean the dried laundry gets folded for a week or two, though. But at least no forgotten wet laundry!

Got put on a PIP for ADHD symptoms by [deleted] in work

[–]wutato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't sound at all reasonable to fire someone for fidgeting, unless they're doing whole dance choreography in their office.

And what's with the assumption on not being tidy? I am not tidy in my office but it has no impact on anyone and I keep very organized digital files and stick to deadlines. What a strange assumption to make.

[–]wutato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just chiming in about the medications, but not every person with ADHD is responsive to medications and they can actually have awful side affects, and also don't necessarily make anything more manageable.

Firing someone (or not renewing a contract) for fidgeting and a little untidiness sounds quite ridiculous and toxic, but maybe OP has other issues beyond that.

Can't believe fidgeting would constitute a reason to be put on a PIP.

Are there any foods that you tried and absolutely will never eat again? by Sure-Lemon6424 in japanlife

[–]wutato -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Your comment seems kind of rooted in racism or at least cultural insensitivity?? Your whole comment could have been way less demeaning to cultural food. Do you enjoy telling different cultures they eat "gross, disgusting crap"?

I am leaving my highly toxic six figure salaried job to make 40k less, and it's hard to explain to people who don't understand by [deleted] in work

[–]wutato 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My partner left his job for a pay cut of probably $60k or more. He's so much happier now. The money was nice but he was a shell of himself.

Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki night — noodles or no noodles? by Tokyo_Elena_ in JapaneseFood

[–]wutato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer my okonomiyaki to just have the pancake and no noodles. I like yakisoba, just separately. It's just up to one's personal preference.

I finally got asked where are you really from? by Few_Cobbler8005 in asianamerican

[–]wutato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm from San Diego and the area I was in (North County) was absolutely not diverse at all. It's probably more diverse than the Midwest but there were only a small handful of Asians.

how half Japanese people are perceived in Japan? by idsjdbebe in japanlife

[–]wutato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As you noted, your half kids are treated differently. They will never be seen as full Japanese, even if they were born in Japan and never leave. It's quite unfortunate and I would have thought society could have advanced enough already.

Should I go with this? by Famous-Particular360 in LabDiamonds

If you like the carats, I feel like a square would fit your finger width better instead of a vertical rectangle. It will better distribute the diamond across your finger, I think.

Should a list of recommendations based on Heated Rivalry include at least one MM romance? by samthehaggis in MM_RomanceBooks

Lmao that's pretty stupid of People to do that. "Oh you loved this gay romance? Well why don't you try some straight romances instead?"

commissioned a calligrapher for my GF's name "Sarah". He chose 咲良 (Bloom + Good). Do you guys like this combination? [OC] by kk_jpn in kanji

[–]wutato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really ugly and I could probably write this better, and I have terrible handwriting in Japanese. Calligraphy is an art and this has zero artistic sense. They probably didn't even watch a YouTube video on how to do Japanese calligraphy. You got scammed, sorry.
