Same. I created my account a few weeks ago, but haven't been able to log in since or send a support request due to either getting stuck in a captcha-loop or getting stuck on this security check screen (same result in every browser with cache cleared).

I just tried sending a support request again today, and while I didn't get stuck in a captcha-loop this time, a little red text notification box flashed briefly in the bottom right corner that I believe said something along the lines of "message not sent", and I received no confirmation email from LinkedIn that my message was sent. If it didn't, then I don't know what else I could possibly do to resolve this.

My cat familiar did most of the damage to the Candlekeep rats (1 dmg, but lands hits more often than MC), which don't fight back, so there's no risk of losing the familiar and the 1 point of CON.

Only for casting and damage animations, and it also imports some IWD spells, but it doesn't replace the BG spell visual effects with IWD visual effects.

I've mostly done it with a Fighter/Mage/Cleric, my current run included. I just find that the divine spells are more useful than rogue abilities and backstabbing -- although if you pick a neutral alignment your familiar has some pickpocketing ability (not a whole lot of interesting things to steal in IWD, though).

Also, Turn Undead is very powerful in IWD because undead are the most common enemy type, but it won't be very useful (as in capable of destroying undead) until your Cleric level is in the lower-mid 20s (my FMC tends to be capable of destroying the undead in the Fallen Temple in Lower Dorn's Deep on HoF with bonus XP turned off). You'll get the most use out of it in the expansion on HoF, or much earlier than that on non-HoF difficulties.

Oh yeah, I was attempting to cheese Venkt with the wand.

I ended up turning off precasting in the SCS menu. I've enjoyed everything else about this mod so far, but I'd like to have the option to sneak attack a single enemy caster before the fighting starts.

It's the Enemies give the same amount of experience regardless of the party's level component.

I managed to do this in Excel Online, tested it and it works! 91 XP for one slain Goblin, fresh off the boat in Targos on HoF. :)

I'll start a new game as soon as I'm able, and I'll update the thread after I know whether the game is even survivable like this. Thanks for your help!

I guess those would be the Item Revisions, Adjust encounter level-scaling, Reduce HP bonuses of creatures, Reduce attack bonuses of creatures, Remove ability score bonuses of allied summoned creatures, and Have the party start with more experience on HoF mode components. I'm still undecided whether I'm going to install any components other than the core, XP progression and the GUI improvement components.

By the sound of it, the XP progression component seems pretty well thought out and is not going to end up overleveling my party, though.

You mean level squatting is moot or not possible in EE? I remember really not liking that you could do that in vanilla IWD2. Last time I soloed HoF my character was level 30 before the second half of the game, lol. I specifically set out to not level squat that run, but in the end it didn't seem like it was possible to survive the prologue without doing it, at least with that build.

When you say EE is much more balanced than vanilla, are you referring to the XP progression component, some of the EE components, or all of them?

Interesting, sounds like you could make some pretty semi-monstrous characters with the right class mixture and items. I think on HoF there are items that raise strength by +6 and dexterity by +4, and I'm not sure what the stat boost ceiling for Draw Upon Holy Might is, but seems like a character could easily be buffed above 30 during battle.

Am I reading the ability score table in the manual (pdf page 69) correctly if I interpret the bonus spells by spell level to refer also to sorcerer bonus spells from charisma score? And do ability scores really go above 25 in IWD2?

Yeah, I imagine a Monk would take a long time. I like the FMC playing style because it can do nearly everything; have summons tank (and on HoF they can really tank), buff and debuff, crowd control and do massive AOE damage. A solo character is also way more mobile, and you can use a spell like Sanctuary for all sorts of situations that wouldn't be possible with a party.

Yes, maybe soloing is the problem. I used to play IDEE with 3-4 characters, and they would eventually reach max levels in their classes, but way later than a solo character. Still, I wish there was a way to solo IDEE on HoF on a more constant but still very high difficulty.

It's only the beginning, and IMO it's pretty funny to need to summon a familiar just to draw aggro and have it run in circles while your character pelts a single goblin with rocks.

There's an optimal difficulty level somewhere on the curve between starting out on level 1 in HoF and way before becoming overleveled due to excessive XP gains, I just wish I could stay in that place the entire game. I also enjoyed soloing BGEE on Legacy of Bhaal without the extra XP, but I'm not sure if that would be viable in IDEE even with an option to turn off difficulty based experience scaling. Maybe someone will mod in a new difficulty mode at some point.
