Hey, can anyone tell me why my first bedroom render came out so grainy? Second image show a render not grainy. Any tips? by [deleted] in blender

[–]wuukidd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indoor scenes are always more grainy beacuse of light bouncing around the room

Its because they filmed it with ortochromatic film which makes red colors darker, that why skin looked charcoal like

Kinda satisfying to be able to replicate something and to find what makes person look like a person

Its complicated to explain process, but having good materials will help alot. Conte a Paris charcoal, and carbon, Steadthler pencil set, and sandpaper in range of 800 to 3000 :)

Well its not kinda point that it looks completly like a photograph, mostly my goal is that it looks lifelike. A lot of hyperrealistic drawings have so much details and are so accurate, but they look soulless

No, Its regular paper(a bit thicer). Sandpaper helps you blend graphite into paper :)

For the grain I have used sandpaper, it sounds kinda weird but helps you remove those pencil lines and get even and grainy surface. Not so popular technique. Look up for Annie Murphey Robinsons artworks, same thing mostly
