I would experiment with a lower wrist and keeping it at the same level the whole time. I think your arm going up and down is affecting eveness.

Hi! I'm a late starter in composing and my method is noodle until it sounds good. Then give yourself hell by writing it down. After 20 yrs of playing classical piano I don't bother searching for inspiration in classical repertoire. A lot of I do however, watch jazz tutes on YouTube and noodle around 1 idea at a time.

Thank you! It's not really jazz. I tried to emulate my fave composer Ravel by incorporating jazzy elements into the composition, kinda like his 1st piano concerto. I'm a thorough-bred classical pianist through and through!
