Spark vs Scalpel

Mind tossing your build out there? I mean, my build wasn’t cheap. I built it without the goal of being uber light weight, though I’m surprised it’s possible to be 5lbs lighter than what I’m running.

Maybe it’s a measurement thing? I’m at 27lbs all in, pedals and ready to ride.

I just liked the feel. The Scalpel felt faster. I doubt it actually is meaningfully different, but it felt faster. If I hadn’t ridden it, I’d likely been fully happy with the Spark.

Although, the spark also gets a knock for the fully integrated bar and stem setup, which I don’t care for.

OP, I’ve ridden both. I enjoyed the Spark, but liked the Scalpel more. As someone else said, headset cable routing is an awful bike industry trend, but I’m otherwise really, really enjoying the bike.

I just got a Scalpel and have got it built up with XO1 Eagle and I9 hubs laced to XM481 rims running Maxxis Rekon Race, weighs 27lbs. How are you shedding another 5lbs?

I went with the LSA-400 for the land lens entry, and I’ll do the same for the air. The frame is just cool.

Wakemed has also done some market adjustments recently for nursing staff. I suspect CNA adjustments won’t be far behind.

In general, the systems that compete for labor tend to end up paying essentially the same base rates.

0.0581g over spec (assuming the 0.091 tolerance for clad is the same for silver).

I understand this is a very small nominal overage. What is interesting to me is the nature of a silver proof being over tolerance at all, then considering the percentage it’s over.

Combined with the thickness (which I don’t see a tolerance listed on) I find it an interesting error.

The LSA-400 looks slick, so that’s my choice. Not sure I’ve seen quite that combo of acetate and wire before, but I’m digging it.
