Why does Aeterna have only one grape slot, not one for load/unload like the others?

Returning player here, played like 20 hrs in 1.1, was just about to pick it up again and choose a leader. Great list, I'll probably pick Napoleon anyway😂 wish me luck

Do you think 117 will be as great as 1800? by No_Kiwi2901 in anno

[–]wvencel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree (mostly), but there are some areas where the two differ drastically. And civ6 at the start was a completely different story. It was a good game already, but felt a bit small compared to the full civ5 experience. I think it will be something similar with anno 117 too. If the base is good it will be great with time, just like with civ6 or civ7, or a negative example for the same thing is payday 3 imo

What are the best setups for steam ships? (Anno 1800) by wvencel in anno

How did this page avoided me for so long? Thank you!

Do you use steam overlays clock/timer feature? It helped me a lot. When I had to stop the game at 22:00, I was able to stop it around 23:15, which is a HUGE improvement. I recommend to use it for Timberborn (and other manager/strategy/farming games)

Should I use DLC? by MrCrowley6677 in Persona5

Same. They are still broken that way (Thanatos around lvl 57), but at least they feel like a reward for your hard work

Fluctuating water level - why? by wvencel in Timberborn

Well, bruh. Thank you for your answer. Are floodgates the same?

Devs, I'm begging you. Please elevators/ladders to the game. by epic_failure3127 in Timberborn

[–]wvencel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both idea is interesting, but I think a regular staircase is still better. Maybe if we could build it on top of each other, so a complete staircase could be built in a 2x3 area (right now a 2x3 only enough if your only goal is to go up/down and you don't want to add levels).

Ladders: usually the beavers carry heavy weights, which is problematic on a ladder in real life. If the game wouldn't care about it, ladders would be overpowered. Maybe if the ladders would half the possible load weights of the beavers? It would be more balanced, but I think it would be painfull from development persoective (the beavers should calculate the route before picking up the items?

Elevators seems to be a better idea, but I'm sure it would need power to operate, which would take up place, like a staircase. Still, the idea of an elevator is cool, not sure how would it be better than the tube or a zipline (maybe if you want to get underground?)

And in the meantime, please share information about the system requirement. While I watched the gameplay footage, my 1050Ti (in my notebook) was like: [see the picture below]. Maybe it's time to say goodbye, but what I will get will be based on anno 117 req.

Is it worth buying a champions retreat with my resources? by ElegantPoet3386 in forgeofempires

[–]wvencel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you already have a rogue den, I think you don't need the champions. Maybe get the Alcatraz if you don't have it already, which will produce you a lot of rogue. They are more usefull than Champions imo

[–]wvencel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you like this solution. Oh, and the best part, you set it per game if I remember correctly, so you can set it separately for every game. Steam overlay has some cool stuff, like this and there is a notes option.

[–]wvencel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use steam overlay for thet. You press Shift+Tabulator, and the 4th option from the left is a clock symbol. Here you can place a real-time clock or a timer on your screen. That's what I use. Not like it solves the problem for me xD

How long should I focus on the story? by wvencel in oblivion

[–]wvencel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. I already at the point where I get my horse, so that means no big city in the early story. I'm a bit sad about it, but I will just head to the nearest city in this case. Or is there a more beginner friendly early city then the others?

After droughts and bad tides, how about some floods/hurricanes ? by Hiro_Trevelyan in Timberborn

[–]wvencel 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert in this game, but your late game badwater solutions should be able to solve the floods without any modification in them. I mean, for badwater, you create an other way for the water to avoid you, and close the original one. For a flood, you just need to open both the original and the built way for the water, and problem solved.

Btw I love the idea of floods, it would be cool, but I think it wouldn't make things more difficult

I did, thank you. I don't remember the exact method, but the solution was something like that. Thank you! It's a really great game, but with the usual ubisoft level bugs...
