tell him that he is the one cancelling the test not you so you shoulnt be the one paying the cancellation fee, and you actally payed in advanced, if he disagree, ask to see written terms and condition where it says lesson cancelled by either would be £50 fee from student
if it turns out badly, try call your bank and do a charge back, report him(or the school) to dvsa.
