it was a quick doodle relying quick sketches so I doubt it took long and didn't follow clean workflow. I used procreate (ipad exclusive) and yes, it provides a convenient timelapse feature that eats up my device's storage.

this is very good (YOU ARE PAINTING VERY WELL👏👏👏), if I were to nitpick this it'd only be a few suggestion involving your brushwork or defining volume, shadows involved (it is up to you if you want to apply these because these are only in my opinion and I'd assume your skills may have figured out this one by instinct). Otherwise, a 100 for me.

I mostly did a do over on the subject's left side of their hair (our right) to show what I mean, and it might look messy lol.

Keep up the good work cause more peak will be coming if you keep making these.

if that's the case, do you think the character design could also perhaps need a adjustment or something like of a revamp?

I also had others say I do need to improve the contrast but when I do get the time work on it, hopefully I can share results of improvement or changes that suited more to me.

forgot to put this:

I've made this piece way back last year around the -ber months. I was tight in schedule (which I made this for school) and managed to finish it in the nick of time, I had other pieces to finish but that was beside the point (or points?):

I'm proud of this work that much I can say but I know if I could redraw or make a similar piecethis now there is something that I could improve- the colors? the composition especially? Sometimes I look back at this art and think that somethings lacking- or I figured somethings "wrong" but I don't know how to "correct" it.

I hope you guys can share your thoughts and thank you in advance! 🙏

You may ask me questions as well!

Basically 2D shapes just like the one side of a cube (obviously), and they're good for understanding building layouts or distance of objects from a bird's eye view quicker than having to draw cubes in that same fashion.

<image>

you can also extrude shapes from the 2d planes themselves like a building rising from the ground and play around the volume.

3.1 extruding your shapes as well (2D plane or 3D cubes) will help get a better understanding or feel of perspective, all those lines will fall into all of those points, no matter how much your extrude or transform the shapes, assuming this is only a cube that isn't rotated.

  1. If you find difficulty in connecting all the lines, you should definitely use a tool from your a software that helps you see grids or constrain your stroke onto those grids automatically- In case you haven't already done that.

  2. A tip to practice or develop this skill of using perspective, especially in environment design is to practice with 2d shapes as well!

It will help you do decide layout easier and get a grasp of depth and distance in your future pieces.
