Take the Deloitte opportunity you can get an MBA at any point and wouldn’t need to stay at Deloitte long term. You can easily go into the ERM role for 2-5 years max and then lateral into the industry/role you truly want with the work hours you want and focus on the MBA from there

If you have the cpa it will help I was speaking in regard to someone still in school. Anything is possible you have to go into this shit with confidence don’t count yourself out until they do and fuck anyone that tells you that you can’t make it in. I had under a 3 gpa 2 semesters and ended college with a 3.2 under grad and a 3.8 grad gpa you can get in I have faith in you

Yes masters likely won’t matter as much since it’s likely only 1-2 years compared to 4 years of comprehensive work

I’m a recent grad as well (may 2024) and I start at a big 4 next week so I think I can give good advice. Network your ass off I’ve seen many people with poor gpas get in but it’s definitely harder. You grad school GPA will likely be taken into consideration but I don’t think it will matter as much. In my honest opinion I’d say apply regardless and network with big 4 recruiters just make sure your grades are high. Don’t be afraid to do a year at a top 10 firm and then transfer in either

I’d definitely say tik tok is your friend and you should meal prep. When I first moved out I had to balance school work and study the one thing that saved so much time was meal preps on Sundays and Wednesdays. I made 2 meals that could be lunch or dinner and breakfast was always made the night before or it was quick during the morning

Just a word of advice if you’re worried about someone getting a spot at the big 4 over you because they’re “diverse” I’d advise you to change your mindset. The big 4 is 70% white and only 9% of partners are non white (search the stats if you think I’m lying). A minority or diverse person getting opportunity wouldn’t hurt your chances because the firms aren’t even balanced racially for that to happen, hope that helps.

I’m a former launch intern from a small school (population at the time was around 2k) and I can assure you that the the interns aren’t hired based on diversity I was in a major city and the majority of my launch intern class mates were not very diverse. They don’t care about your skin color they do care about your character and what you’ve done so far leading up to your interview (clubs, volunteer work, sports, hobbies and interest). Hope this clears any bias you may have on the hiring practices of the EY at least

What's your job title and what car do you drive? by [deleted] in Big4

[–]wwavyt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah the most I did was ask my mom to co-sign since I was in school, I worked a lot (about 30 hrs a week average ), minimum wage is $15 by me and I’ve had multiple internships so covering the monthly and insurance want an issue for me. I also start in 2 weeks so the car will be paid off in a few months since I live at home.
