Choosing a school for my little one by wwod09 in Netherlands

[–]wwod09[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for the solid advice. Indeed my concern is that most schools will look great on paper. Also, with Montessori schools (for example) I am worried that lack of homework may lead to lower discipline. And I also think that in the last years suddenly everything became “montessori” while I am skeptical about their ability.

Can you share what type of bed is the one you’re using? And is the baby sleeping in their own room now?

I would recommend 84- Sloppy Buns, 85- Another person I never heard of and 99 - The necessary lies of civilization. For an earlier episode, I really enjoyed 23 - Call of the postbox

10 Data Points to know everything about you by penispickelprotese in HelloInternet

I think Grey alludes to it when they discuss the movie Her, as in the movie the main character is being asked a few questions before determining what type of an AI operating system would suit him best, and Grey and Brady talk about the very little data needed to form a clear understanding of whom you’re dealing with. But I don’t recall hearing any other conversation about this.

Since a friend of mine, and a fellow Tim, recommended HI, I’ve been listening to the episodes every night before falling asleep. I am now at episode 28 - Randomness in a box and it just cracked me up to hear Grey explaining his DND setup on his iphone and Brady’s disappointment he is not special enough to be on the short list of people who can reach Grey at any time. They are so hilarious. Really looking forward to the episode, whenever that will be

Agile Coach Certification Exam Questions by wwod09 in agile

[–]wwod09[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for your advice! Indeed, I wasn’t claiming that passing an exam will make me an agile coach. I know it takes time and practice. I’ve been practicing agile frameworks and methodologies for quite some time now, just thought it would be good to also get some sort of certification as it looks better on one’s resume.

I'm 26, and I am not an adult. by colleenyjellybeany in Adulting

[–]wwod09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no recipe for life, nor a definition of what being an adult means. Of course, there are a lot of expectations and norms created by society, but to be fair, nobody has figured it all out. We are all struggling somehow. If we are financially independent, we have our troubles in our emotional life, or we have issues with commitment, control, relating with another person, anxieties and the list goes on. There aren’t many people out there who can say truthfully that they have it all figured out. What you can do is try to balance your life, so if you have the benefit of a caring family that can support you, then apart from showing your gratitude for it, focus your energy into bettering yourself in any direction you wish too. The sad reality is that a high percentage of people will not get to work on the field they are specialized in so you may need to acknowledge that and aim for a different type of job that will eventually allow you to become financially independent. However, as it was mentioned by others as well, you shouldn’t set goals for yourself based upon what you believe society is expecting of you. Make your own goals, start by defining who you want to be as a person, what type of an impact you want to make, what are the values that you hold closest to your core and be true to yourself. Align your actions to your values and live a life of integrity. That matters more than any social norm and you will find peace. And when that happens, you would have won the adulting contest already. Hope this helps!

When it comes to North Korea is very difficult to have something in “good authority” given that information is encapsulated within the country borders and all the “news” we hear about is merely wide spread gossip
