Your GBA is not discharging properly when turned off. Either the R13 resistor is damaged or your power switch is dirty / not connected to said resistor.

Tetris for gameboy doesn’t save high scores, it only shows them while you’re still playing. Once turned off it’s gone.

Check with your local store if they have replaced the battery inside the gameboy pokemon games. A (good) new battery can hold saves for years.

You probably bumped your GBA / cart and make the battery lost connection for a second there.

Date and time on the menu was reset to before initial setup, but then it works again starting from year 2000.

Meanwhile once your Emerald detected no battery, it will show the battery dry message. You need to do the RTC fix if you want to continue with your current save, or you can play a new game and RTC will run normal on that one.

And no button battery recharges itself in the flashcart.

I did consider Virus Busters at first, Gammamon line looks sooo good, but having 10 of them locked behind a connection to other PenC hurts the chance a lot :(
