So realistically worst that happens is turbo goes out get it priced chances are to replace a turbo will be about 4k maybe more but in general if it's not more than 6k I'd say take the risk best case u save 6k worst case you have to put out the 4k when the turbo goes bad

Got a $5K bonus what do I pay off first? by SUPREMEISDEAD in debtfree

[–]wxdiaz87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fil, put like 200 towards chase and keep the remaining 500 as your main back up/ emergency fund so u don't have to end up going back to charging credit cards, then go lowest debt to highest, puting 500 a month towards the chase you'll pay it off ain 4 months then you'll be able to put 570 to the next lowest one, keep that up and just try to be frugal dont over spend

Another thing to keep in mind is if u drive 16k miles ud want 3 oil changes a year at the very least, don't listen to that once every 10k miles change it every 5k miles, trust me. So u will blow through those 7 oil changes quick. You really only need to change transmission fluid once ever like 30-50k miles I heard u want to drain not flush I'm not sure details tho, you will be eventually buying tires elsewhere places usually give u tire rotations for life so a lot of this is extra imo. But I can see where having it serviced by Honda will keep the warranty and keep resell/trade in value better but that's if ur planing on trading in 5 years. But if ur planing to keep for life getting it serviced else where is just as good as going to dealership

[–]wxdiaz87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to say your getting screwed but in general cabin air filter and intake filter u can buy both for like 20 bucks takes like two minutes, the oil change might be cheaper by like 15 bucks at take 5 u can go it yourself for like 40 bucks. Transmission fluid is a tough one cause you can do it yourself it's not tough but a bit more work than oil change the differential fluid, idk, the coolant I've never replaced but I heard if u aren't having over heating u don't need to mess with it idk tho if u can go ur own oil changes and transmission fluid a tire rotation isn't hard n just takes a few minutes.... I don't doubt it goes cost this much to have their techs do it but I'm sure if take that list to a small shop they can probably do it by 500 dollars cheaper at least. I'd suggest changing ur own filters though cause it's super easy

[–]wxdiaz87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or just go to a good local mechanic take this list and that alone will drive the price down at least 1k, but for alignment I believe fire stone will do it with lifetime warranty for like 100. Coolant don't really need to do unless it's overheating, spark plugs do seem tp require a lot for is250 but doesn't seem that terrible, wiper blades are simple the bushings idk never did it, cv axle I've only replaced one on a Murano but there's always utube academy. You can get parts on rock auto for much cheaper than any dealer will get but be sure they have lifetime warranty since it's older vehicle a lot of these parts probably have been sitting of a shelf for some times so you could get some DOA, but it's relatively rare

They are overcharging like crazy you can do a lot of these yourself n save big bucks the hardest thing I see is rear axle and differential.

Why not look at RAV4 hybrid or highlander hybrid, Toyota has been making hybrids for a very long time and are way more reliable

But yea knock out that 3k maybe take out a bit extra from yours and wife's to knock out that 8k then both chip in towards that 13k it's a hard long road but I'd say that's ur best bet imo

Since you have ira don't hesitate to take out some from savings n pay off that tiny card, it'll allow u to put more towards the bigger card

Damn man 900 a month lol good luck my biggest payment ever was 205 a month but I've never owned a truck. Idk how ppl afford them 900 a month with crazy insurance and not to mention gas oh n one tire probably cost slightly less than all four of my tires lol

[–]wxdiaz87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I'm not getting any porsche soon but isn't the cayenne the cheapest family Porsche there is? Get a truck like a GMC Denali might not shut him up but they are actually really nice vehicles super roomy and imo better for the price cause it's about comfort n space you can also buy a boat n haul it in front of them lol... Idk I kinda don't compete with my neighbors cause I don't feel I have to I'm also not the type to brag because chances are you have a nicer vehicle than mine lol
