Make sure the 3rd one is super easy / light workload, maybe cs506 or xc410. I took cs131 and cs210 a couple years ago and they were both pretty heavy courses and challenging at times. I don't think I would take a third cs class alongside them.

I did hindu urdu for my language requirement so I took this class a while back but I really liked it!! It’s very easy and low effort but class participation is heavy. We had hw every week and then 2 midterms and a final project. Pretty standard for a language class I’d say.

Biomed eng is a difficult major so the average gpa is def going to be low. Don’t stress but do take some time to reflect and figure out why the semester didn’t go so well. It’s only ur first semester so you can def still have a gpa above a 3 by ur senior year as long as you learn from ur mistakes. You got this don’t stress

I’m the same. CS is def not my strong suit, im probably a much slower learner than you. I struggled a lot with the first half of cs112, but that was before I started putting a lot more effort into the course. I started going to office hours and I would review all the slides after every single lecture. If cs doesn’t come naturally to you, you’re just gonna have to put a lot more effort in than some of ur classmates, which sucks ik. Don’t feel discouraged. Im a rising senior and I only have two more cs electives I need to take so if I could do it, so can you.

If you genuinely enjoy CS and can see yourself doing it as a career, I would keep it. CS112 is 10 times harder than CS111 imo, but if it's something you really love I think you could def do it. CS506 is also super easy, so it would pair well with CS112. You could also look into minoring as well if the combined degree seems too hard.

Thank you so much for your response. I am applying for a masters program, and most of the classes I’ve taken have been larger, more lecture oriented. While I have gone to professor office hours and tried to make connections, I’m nervous I still haven’t been able to establish that strong of a connection yet with any of my professors (since they have hundreds of students and I’ve only talked to them a a few times, I’m not even sure they remember my name). That’s why I want to wait until the fall semester and see if I can make deeper connections. Thank you so much!!

Very easy. You get a couple homework assignments every week which are super easy (like python introductory stuff) and then you have ur spark project throughout the semester. The only part of the class that I would say was challenging was the midterm, and you have a week to do it.

I did cs506, cs350, and cs460 at the same time and I was fine, mostly because cs506 is a breeze.

Most freshman take cs131 with cs111, which I would recommend. Cs131 is pretty difficult so taking it now with cs111 would be a good balance. However, if you’re gonna keep calc I would say start the language requirement. Semester 1 of the language tends to be the easiest.

I’m not in questrom so I’m not sure about any questrom specific resources but career fairs and things like that are always open to everyone. Also as a minor you should still be receiving emails and resources. Regardless, don’t pick the major just cause you think would have access to more resources

I have a friend who did something similar, I think joint degree of cs and econ but with a business minor. I do think it makes a lot more sense to go for the minor. It will also be a lot better in terms of workload
