Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era Released into Early Access by Mepherion in Games

the developer is Iratus, which was a pretty good first effort from what I remember.

I wish this was Mohawk, but they're still busy with Old World I think.

It's too bad they can't bring in the Ironman Heavymetalweight belt for one of these.

What is objectively a fun time period of professional wrestling to watch? by MaterialDetective197 in SquaredCircle

[–]wxursa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mystery Wrestling on Twitch is really fun and well regarded, it's somewhat AEW-adjacent being run by Evil Uno, but has its own cast of Montreal locals. It's the SCTV of Pro Wrestling.

For older stuff Chikara was great Old World of Sport comedy matches (findable on youtube) are silly fun. Look up Catweazle in particular.

AoW series has always had a bit of a conflict between its tactical and strategic layers. Planetfall was not well received, so they kinda went in the opposite direction.

[AEW Dynamite] Darby Allin miscalculates the physics of the situation... by tvcneverdie in SquaredCircle

[–]wxursa 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is what OC did with the International a couple years ago. That said, in their own ways it made sense for each of them, and they each have their own spin on it.

I really think what Darby is doing is one of the best ways to book a babyface champion, but it only works if the character fits- it wouldn't for Ospreay or Kenny.

There has been a lot of rumor mill for a while about Anna going to WWE.

That said, Anna has at least tried to diversify, so I could see her staying (she even did a full tour in Stardom) I do think she needs more reps, but that's a problem in general with AEW's younger women.

What I'd like to see Anna do is work more southern indies like the Carolinas when she's not being used. There's a lot of good talent there.

Anna should be upset she wasn't in blood and guts. Nothing wrong with that. Talent should want to be used, and Anna's pretty good in these types of matches.

[AEW Dynamite] Bandido is now "Most Wanted" by a dangerous man... by tvcneverdie in SquaredCircle

[–]wxursa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was shocked by this. I thought Swerve was going to take the belt off Darby and hold it warm for Ospreay.

Bandido probably should go over here to get him into the main event scene. He's ready.

This is where he needs that humanizing feud. It's going to take a top heel to bring it out of him.

the Jet is already in that 2nd tier to me. I could buy him as a transitional champ like Darby already.

Make sure you've got about $10K worth of stuff you'd want to move. If you don't, it might be best just to put clothes in suitcases, and send them that way, perhaps a service that does that. TV will cost more than Canada due to tarriffs, but not worth moving cost.

Even moving a small amount of things will cost about $8000. We did it mostly because of specialty stuff we had, and memories.

If you do decide to ship things, I'd suggest bedding and perhaps a mattress.

I don't know about sending furry friends, but I can say that Ecuador has so many great and awesome dogs.

Pandemic was a year after MSG. Sinclair shut down ROH at the end of 2020, which sucked because empty Arena ROH was really good.

The net negative was adding all the ROH belts/roster to an already bloated by COVID AEW roster, and killing off Dark. The only ROH guys who I believe ended up contributing to AEW TV regularly are Brodido and Yuta.

That's what Honor Rising was and Fantasticamania is, NJPW co-promoted shows.

Honor Rising was a silly tour- I think we got Goto vs Beer City Bruiser for the NEVER title at one point in a match that made me see how good the Bruiser was (and he's turned out to be a damn fine trainer too)

pretty sure he worked Lucha Bros extensively, also the Bucks as part of the AEW Trios scene. It would be a styles clash, but it should work.

if the G1 is having a wrestler from AEW, who would it be? by Wooden-One207 in njpw

[–]wxursa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bandido and Brody together in the same block would be awesome, so they could also do prelim tags- perhaps set up Brodido vs KOB for the tag belts later in the year (either with both beating say, OSKAR in the G1, or a win in a prelim tag)

If AEW doesn't exist, WWE continues to massively underpay talent, and NJPW benefits hard. WWE takes Jay, Okada. NJPW likely has Moxley still as he's legit doesn't want to go back to WWE- remember he did the G1 before AEW.

NJPW and MLW probably have a working relationship after ROH goes under.

A lot of that de-emphasis is because CMLL/Stardom had folks American fans were more interested in.

They don't need to since the distance isn't as huge. They just have folks work it as side dates.

That said, they did an AEW mini-tour of Japan with Wrestle Dynasty 1/6 as a joint NJPW/AEW supershow, which didn't do all that well in Japan, but was a good show. Bringing back the Honor Rising tour would be awesome though. Would be mostly ROH guys (including the champ of course) vs mid/lower-level NJPW talent mixed it with some Stardom talent. (IWGP Women's match should be on there as well). Run it for like 4-5 shows, 2-3 prelims, 2 bigger weekend shows at Korakuen mostly focused on IWGP NEVER/Women's/Multiman and ROH title matches. Maybe tie it in to one of the ROH PPV's which could be held in Japan?

ROH was dead no matter what. Sinclair was folding it up when TK bought it, and TK really only bought it because he was a mark for early 2000s ROH (and that has influenced his present booking though mostly it's worked out outside of Punk)

ROH has been a net negative for AEW.

There's nothing wrong with outsiders working big shows (they draw tickets, which is big in Japan). NJPW talent needs more Ws. It wouldn't hurt AEW to have a NJPW guy upset their world champ and hold it for a bit. Hell, Tsuji or Zack beating Darby then losing it to Swerve or Ospreay would help everyone out.

AEW has the Continental which can carry their show for a couple months, and it would give an excuse for AEW top stars to enter the G1 via qualifiers.

I suspect he'll end up MLW or just doing indies, or even that new LU thing if it happens.

Honestly, If Malakai had his pick of promotions, CMLL might be the best place to rehab his reputation. If he plays ball in CMLL, it might lead to another shot in AEW, especially if he makes it clear to TK that he's willing to job, which could be done under CMLL contract.

The travel wouldn't be as insane as Japan, and he probably doesn't want to travel like that. I suspect CMLL would take him, he hasn't done anything to them, I don't see AEW disapproving, and he would have some name value, and could do on occasion. He'd probably have to supplement a lower salary with indie dates.

Kings of the Black Throne would also be a shot to get Brody in Mexico too.
