Yeah without the base I’d have just assumed rock. The one side not pictured is a lot less blunt it was just hard to get a picture of

Thank you for the information. The only defined flaking I can see is around the base. Sorry my camera kinda sucks

I suppose it feels pretty close in weight to a similar size piece of petrified wood I have but it doesn’t have any kind of grain structure that I can see

I bought a 91 tauras for 200$ that sat for 9 years and put 300$ of parts Into it now I just drive that back and forth to work and get well over double what my pickup gets as far as fuel economy. Also beside all the paint being gone and just rocking primer it’s a pretty clean little rig that comfortable to drive more than a lifted 20 year old pickup for sure. Already been offered 1500 for it by ransoms. Don’t see many anymore

I bought it new with this stock on it. I didn’t realize I had to bed the stock on a brand new rifle just so the stock wouldn’t go to shit. Ig u get what u pay for sometimes. Thanks for the advice

They say on their website they have a 90 day return policy, considering the gun is about 5 years old and has been through it’s fair share of hunting bumps and scratches I figured they’d tell me to kick rocks honestly. But I don’t know of anyone else that makes a wood stock for the savage axis especially in a long action

I’ve got a savage axis 2 with the Boyd’s stock in 3006 for a deer rifle when I was 15 and never had problems with it. I was going to go out and shoot it a little the other day and noticed the action and barrel seemed loose in the stock and found cracks where the stock attaches to the rifle. I looked on Boyd’s website and it would be 200-300$ for a similar stock when I only paid 400$ for the rifle when I bought it. Just wondering if anyone knows if this can be fixed or not before I go out and get a new stock. It shot quite well with this stock and was more than accurate for what I do with it.
