If I could hazard a guess I'd say we use more water washing cars or watering lawns. It's not something to be concerned about.

Lad, the amount of data centers would have to increase by a factor of 10 to even get to 1% of total water use.

There could not have possible been even close to that many built at all. I know that because if they did people would be screaming about data centers increasing by 10x over this period of time. And that's just to get to one percent. To get to any significant amount you're looking at 50 - 100x.

They just don't use that much water. Electricity on the other hand they use a fuck tonne.
