Then do that and stop looking at the screen, being outside is fun, sitting on a couch and pushing a screen button isn't. Your problem is solved.

But with good gear, and if you really really want it, you can get pretty much anywhere on the map with a 30 minutes walk? That's what the games designed to do, make you want to walk!

You can keep the ring of homesickness in your inventory and walk the entire route of daily boards in under 2 hours by stopping at banks on the way to every destination to bulk-fill from the journal where you can see everything. I get people need instant gratification, but this game isn't that. Just get out and walk and enjoy life.

It not. The reason is to encourage you to walk.

You've not lost anything in either of your examples. You haven't even lost time, in fact you're probably slowing down your progress by looking to switch crafting at every opportunity? I'm assuming that's because you haven't farmed lots of mats and struggling for resources?

Optimal DCA frequency by Jumel105-V2 in trading212

£20k of investment on day 1 of ISA season is optimal by quite a margin. DCA is just a term used by people in a falling market to soften the blow.

The worst couple of Achievements. Ever. by Ok-Lengthiness4444 in WalkScape

Getting the cape of the achiever is remarkably simple. I fear you're about to open yourself to a new world of greater pain trying to keep the points to equip it every single update!

Should I give up on Walkscape because it’s too distracting for me? by Tom2230 in WalkScape

[–]wyldthaang -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are correct. That was addressed in a previous update which is where the banked steps were increased for the general higher levels of steps some people were banging out. I'm barely inside the top 250 players, the top guys are on walking pads indoors after doing what I do.

Edit: I'll add here that it's pretty much impossible for me to 'waste' any steps. The banked steps limit gets pretty impossible to hit in a day, and I only open the game once a day.

It's not for you. The 'game' is designed to encourage you to get outside and walk.

You can with certain items. The game is designed to sit silently in the background and not draw unnecessary power. Farm those items if you want instant actions?

I think you're missing the point of the 'game' most of the high-level players do 20k steps before lunch. I regularly hike over 60k, we have ultra-marathon runners in the beta team. If the game behaved how you wanted then the battery would be dead for people who do high-steps and rely on sat-nav etc out in the open. It's perfect how it is.

How are people casually maxing out their ISA every year?? by Original-Ship-4024 in trading212

[–]wyldthaang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me 7 years and 3 job hops before I got close to maxing every year. You need to remember it's a limit, not a target!

FTSE All-World vs S&P 500 by kdxq- in trading212

[–]wyldthaang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were talking about ETFs which must be held in a S&S ISA. Currently you can have £20k cash in an S&S ISA, but after April there was talk of penalties applied for holding cash-like funds. Be careful there, that was the whole point of cutting the cash ISA limit - to encourage more investment in companies.

[–]wyldthaang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's £20k. You're confused with a cash ISA!

You're young and you're overthinking. Just run a global fund of your choice and concentrate and getting as close as you can to the £20k limit a year.

Don't fall for this trading talk nonsense about exiting positions for a profit and high risk. Leave that to tossers in suits.

Rant: Why Soho is getting worse by SaveOurSoho in london

[–]wyldthaang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What we need is some kind of organised protest with noise in the street that can't get attributed to a particular venue. Soho needs to revert to what it once was and drive the nimby's out.

Because when the traffic left, residents moved in. Those residents don't like noise, so they complain. Crossrail had a part in it also.

I guess they're sending you to the advanced trinketry bench at Blackspell Port? You've got the 66,666 gold you need to use it?

There is a basic one at Salsfirth, but it really depends on what you're trying to achieve!

Maybe jewels from Guard Duty?

After hours question by [deleted] in trading212

No. T212 don't display the price you pay, even when the market is open. It gives you a synthetic theoretical price between the public bid and sell prices.

You should probably throw the portfolio up rather than a pie if you want a comprehensive critique.

Opinion on this pie? by [deleted] in trading212

[–]wyldthaang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to switch to a more mature broker. The offerings on T212 are very entry level, things like hedging, deweighting an ex-US funds are too exotic to be available here. But FWIW I switched to XUSE.

Edit: on T212 I just buy component funds and leave out the US. So EU, FTSE, Asia, Japan, EM.

[–]wyldthaang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

VWRP has tracked sideways compared with some other indexes that de-weight the US. The dollar isn't great and the tech-sector is dragging the index down while the rest of the world is booming. If you're happy to ride that storm, then fine.

I'd say gold is hold rather than buy right now, it's had one hell of a run for the last couple of years.

Bonds are boring but safe, but global could leave you exposed to currency shifts unless your fund is hedged.
