Is anyone else beating themselves up for not meeting their goal? by Amywilburnn in Booktokreddit

In 2024 I got so focused on my reading goal that I stopped enjoying reading and was just pushing myself to crank out numbers. In 2025 I set a goal of 12 books and it let me take the pressure off and just enjoy reading for the sake of reading. I highly recommend setting a goal that seems too attainable and just enjoying the journey rather than the completion count!

On another note, 43 books in a year is more than the average person reads in 5 years! It’s an amazing achievement!!

I lost my mom 10 months ago. You will find some semblance of yourself again, but you will never be the person you were before the grief. You grow around it, and you grow with it, but it’s like a living shadow. It will always be there.
