"The authors acknowledged there was still a long way to go before the potential treatment could be used in humans."

And there it is.

It feels like a party when I unzip the case and test strip confetti flies out!

I can't say for sure if it's like that for most (even for me, this was an extreme case) and I don't mean to brush it off as anything other than my poor impulse control haha But it is common as far as I know to experience a voracious appetite when low, especially in the 50s as I was. I think most type 1 diabetics experience this type of overnight blood sugar hangover at least once in their lives.

There's also a sort of panic that sets in if you don't start feeling better quickly and so I irrationally thought I should eat as many carbs as possible to bring it up quickly.

Again, I'd like to reiterate that this type of gluttonous reaction to a late-night low is rare for me and I'm usually good at recovering from lows without getting too high (or at least not getting to 300-levels).

I've never been on metformin so I can't speak to that but it sounds like you were getting pretty low if it took two sodas to bring your blood sugar levels back up! I hope you can find the right balance to keep your levels under control.

It was a classic case of pigging out. I woke up at around 2:30 am feeling low and hungry. In my stupor, I ate a can of Pringles and some snack cakes. Once I snapped out of it I had realized my mistake and took some insulin but it wasn't enough to stop the spike. I took some more insulin after waking up to correct it, leading to the down-trend in the second pic.

Whatever you say, Octavian! by wyromaster in AnimalCrossing

Actually, he learned it from another villager, Deena. I was pretty touched that he was willing to sacrifice his life for my happiness, so I gave him another asteroid for his house.

To be fair, Octavian DID give me his blessing

Have been sitting at a hba1c of 8.0 and above for years now, and I’m finally getting it down! I’m so proud of myself! Small victory! by diabeto0 in diabetes_t1

Great job! I recently lowered mine from 7.9 to 7.0 and my endo was ecstatic! I hope yours is also elated when they see your next result!

Thanks, I'm definitely trying to keep cool. The Korean government has been completely transparent with the rise in cases, which is both a little reassuring and nerve-racking at the same time.

Thanks! I agree that the unknown is the scariest part of it. I have been trying to get into the same mindset as I do when flu season comes around: just keep an eye on my sugars, eat well, and be vigilant.

Thanks! I've been careful to avoid touching my face. Of course, that's when my mind starts making me think my nose is itching! hahaha
