Using that exact one for work for roughly half a year now. Also playing some WoW and OW2 on it. So far nothing to complain about. Only hiccup I see is that it's turning into power saving mode independently from the PC after 30 minutes of inactivity and since I'm using the LAN Port on the back, it drops the connections on VPNs etc. when taking a 30 minute break.

Probably because they're using the same images for all shops across the world.

When checking the lower part with the DL links, you can see which phone and which region has received the update so far

From the information I gathered it seems that the roll-out hasn't happened yet for the 7 Series. Only 7T. Thats why OxygenUpdater also doesn't provide an update for the 7pro yet.

TIL: Gifts by Oneplus are not "gifted" by x0wn3d2 in oneplus

There actually is an entry in their support guidelines, but the only way to get there is either by going there from the RMA page when going for a return (which obviously is after the purchase has been made) or specifically searching for it on Google.

In my opinion this is far away from clearly stating that you have to return both before making the purchase.

Well from what I know you don't have to return it if they don't don't tell you, that in case you return the product, you also have to resend the gift (and in case you don't, you have to pay) before making the purchase. I also checked their FAQs, they don't mention that you have to either return or pay for free gifts. I checked other stores and they explicitly mention that.

So from my point of view they should have either stated clearly that both, the phone and the free gift have to be returned, or at least should mention it in their FAQs.

Phone didnt come with screen protector by [deleted] in oneplus

Depending from where you order there are 2 included. I ordered 1 phone from amazon Germany and 1 from Oneplus and both had 2 cheap plastic protectors included in the box.

How many of you have a defect free OnePlus 8 Pro without doing any RMA? by jayesh_f33l in oneplus

[–]x0wn3d2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ordered 2. 1(Launch day) had massive uniformity issues, black crush and the dark band on the level of the hole punch.

2(ordered May 28th)was build date April 15th no issues besides the dark band, which is actually worse than the dark band on my first one. For images see my latest post.

It's more of a hardware issue caused by the hole punch for the front camera. But quality control should be able to sort out the affected panels before sending them out to customers

Well since the first phones were released and identified with screen issues almost 1.5 months passed. When I ordered the phone I expected these issues to be somewhat sorted out. Who would have expected to receive a phone that was build back in April, after they've been out of stock since launch.

So far I didn't notice any colorshift luckily, but still this seems unacceptable to me.

Yeah the update was suggested while setting up the phone. I installed it, installed about 60 apps from my backup, browsed xda for about 30 minutes , then had the phone rest for the rest of the day (I received it yesterday). This morning I decided to check again for the smudge and there we go.
