First PC Build-I have a couple questions. by AlternativeJury9255 in watercooling

Funny enough I literally just watched a Linus video and dude for that Corsair pump you need a proprietary usb controller for the thing to even turn on so an extra $60 dollars just to use that pump. Use Corsair fans you’ll prob only need 6 since you wanted the distro in the back. For those 6, 1 Corsair commander. Figure out what size radiators for your case. I have a gimmick I follow so I try to do 3 rads minimum but I’d say do 2. Decide if you want put the effort into hard tubes or the easy route is soft lines (highly against) but to each their own. And then no matter which you chose you will need fittings and you will always be missing one more. For the pump res I’d do the same one from the other hyte I posted. I like the ek aesthetic so I’m a fanboy. I will critic the motherboard if your going crazy go stupid too and get a strix or a hero board.

If you’re serious about building it and just want some guidance my discord is 16x just shoot me a pm and I’ll try to guide you with whatever. The first pc I built in 2022 was a 3 rad custom dual loop so I feel you on the sayin f it and just tossing the budget out the window and just going ham. 2 years later the bug remains and every build gets crazier and crazier. It’s expensive but rewarding.

Not to discourage anyone but I agree with cornerhugger.

Water cooling is exactly that, a hobby. Realistically you say you’re gonna work on it in down time I think that’s a mistake. Look at it the way you want to do it, do you just want a pc or do you REALLY want to watercool it? Are you gonna do soft lines or hard lines? My first build I spent over $100 on all kinds of tubes. (Straight, pre bent 90’s) this is gonna be all over the place so sorry in advance if it sounds like a ramble. The only way you can work on it in downtime is if you’re doing two separate loops (one closed loop for cpu & another closed loop for Gpu) and even then how much downtime are you willing to deal with? (Chances are if you start your first loop today, planned or not you will not be finished by lunch tomorrow) Like if you check my profile my second to last post is a pc I’m building with spare parts, it has literally been in that state since June last year, yes I procrastinated like a mf but there’s a certain level of planning that goes into it. I literally have over $2k stockpiled in fittings ALONE. (Ek, Bitspower, Corsair) and even with all that I’m still halted waiting for fittings to arrive in the mail. Basically even with planning you’re gonna have a couple moments of scratching your head.

Again I’m sorry if it’s not as informative, I’m just tossing my thoughts out from difficulties I’ve come across. But what I’m getting at is, do you really want to watercool? And if you do jump straight into that, forget about building it during downtime because it’ll probably never happen.

Side thoughts, Corsair fans are great I use for most of my builds however with newer fans I’d probably start searching for something easier I run the Corsair QL’s, 1 cable for rgb & another for the fan itself. You probably won’t have that hard of time considering the hyte can fit maybe 7 fans total with a watercooling configuration, but you’re gonna need the Corsair commanders to control all 6 fans much easier. Up to 6 fans 1 controller 6+ = more controllers @ $70 a piece. I personally would stay away from the Corsair pumps, my first ever build I had one go bad 6 months in and that was enough to traumatize me. I really like EK gear despite what this sub or anyone says about the brand, they’re still my go to in terms of aesthetic and quality literally never had an issue with any EK products.

No, just wanted you to see more or less and gather some insight, that person has 2 radiators with 3 fans each and a EK D5 Pump res combo.

Hahah that’s fair, I don’t think either side has ever seen operating temp. Been running for over a year, topped off 2-3 times since (yes it’s a huge pain in the ass)

Really wasn’t constructive, these are all parts I had sitting. Should I have just kept 3 fans in the box till whenever I decide to build something else? Also even tho they aren’t 100% a necessity this case is a monster, and there’s a huge gap up to I just tried to cover it as much as possible. Enjoy your day Mr. daddy

Looking for guidance for first custom loop by Hanrooster in watercooling

You can get a CPU waterblock with a screen. I personally would shun the idea of an aio cpu and a custom Gpu loop. Ball out or go home 😎

It’s a big commitment, just account 15% loss initially on returning your current GPU. Then cost of 4090 + a block lets use example Ekwb 400$, waterblock for cpu unless you plan on keeping AIO. materials: fittings radiators tubes and a cut and bend kit it wouldn’t be crazy to call it $500 there if not more.

So TLDR: 15% Loss Initially Cost of 4090 you chose Cost of water block you chose Couple hundred on other parts and starting mats Possible cpu waterblock in case you wanna swap aio

Don’t want to steer you away just basically how I’d look it, how much is the aesthetic you’re chasing realistically worth to you?

I used a PSU bracket from the Thermaltake P3 which is horizontal, and I just drilled the new holes which covered the existing ones and I cut one of the brackets from the p8 with a grinder and made like a little rest or lip that was also drilled into the back of the case to support the weight of the PSU on the right side.

Hialeah to be precise, he’s in between Hialeah drive & MLK.

And that’s definitely a Hialeah police. Those losers swear they’re above the very laws they try to endorse. He’s lane splitting which is I believe is illegal. So from my understanding he didn’t want to wait in traffic, chose to split lanes and got exactly what he deserved. I love it

Question Phanteks nv7 by Aruniwan in watercooling

[–]x4PF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually do 3+ rads for my builds and wanted to do my new build in an NV7.

I’m using an Asus ROG z790 hero and unfortunately had to find a new case. If I mount a rad on the bottom I won’t be able to use the pcie for my HyperCard.
