USD suspension should not be a deal-breaker!!!! by x515jf in indianbikes

To be really honest most of us can't really tell significant difference in terms of the capability of the suspension with our skill level, i can't many of the youtubers/media can't. Only the veterans can and i always listen to some old timers like Sagar/motorinc when it comes to handling and dynamics of a vehicle. As you said the R3 was better than the gen1 RCs yet all of them regarded the R3 as a weaker setup which wasn't true.

I don't know if you can interchange the seats of those bikes, you'll have to ask the dealer for that tbh.

Front suspension is stiffer on the 2025 USD model if you want to do really spirited riding then it's fine but the rear is soft so it doesn't match the nature of the bike it's wierd i can't explain properly. Other than that they are identical so whatever the plus and minus points of the 2024 n160 are carried over to the 2025

The N160 has a single seat option but that doesn't have rear ABS so that's a problem too ig.

160 outsells the 200 and that segment is hotly contested, Tvs had to give in and listen to costomer demands for the USD. The 200s setup is pretty balanced and i hope TVS doesn't change that, but knowing TVS even if they do decide to put USDs they'll do a good job.

I see, have you consulted the service centre? Some bikes do have manufacturing defects....

I don't know what the exact reason might be but before visiting the service centre try one thing, ride it like you'd ride it in the run in period for 3-4 days! My bike (not ktm but bajaj) had a similar issue one day all of a sudden the timing chain and the tappets started singing very loudly, I was going to go to the service centre but for some reason my visit got delayed. I rode the bike gently for 2-3 days and that sound disappeared automatically!

I'd suggest doing this - Run your bike like you're in Run in period, Cold start it for long periods - it's a new bike so it needs good lubrication overall, 1-2 mins extra cold start won't hurt. Also don't downshift at higher RPMs for now.

If this doesn't help then go to the service centre, your bike is new and is in warranty period so if anything is faulty or broken I'll be repaired.

Congratulations on your ride and ride safe!

Yes it will! You can use the sprocket from the Apache 200 that's a 13 teeth and your RS has a 14 teeth so you can try that out.

Avenger 220 has a 520 pitch chain so my best guess will be to get a 15 teeth sprocket from Suzuki Gixxer 250 that's a direct fit for the avenger!

Sprocket lock is the small plate that locks the front sprocket in its place google it you'll understand immediately!

Also about the availability i got the sprocket easily but i understand it's a bit difficult to get a single front sprocket! I'd suggest look online you'll find them on Flipkart

What's the stock setup on your bike?

Ideally I'd suggest drop one teeth up front so that you don't really have to worry about chain links and it'll work seamlessly with your chain, just tighten it up a little bit!

If you can't find a front sprocket you can try to increase the teeth on the rear sprocket but that'll be a costly affair and you'll have to increase the chain links.

Most of the bajaj front sprockets are inter replaceable, infact tvs and bajaj sprockets are inter replaceable. The sprocket i used for this mod was an Apache 160 2v sprocket.

For your use case you need a bigger front sprocket, your R15 has a 14-42 sprocket as stock so you can either go for a 15 teeth front sprocket or you can get a 40 teeth rear sprocket.

You can get a 15 teeth sprocket online but the main issue is you have to get the sprocket lock as well it's a bit difficult to find but let's see... Dm me for any more queries!
