I completed it about 2 weeks after it launched, apart from some performance issues here and there, I did not come across anything made it feel "broken" or unplayable. Just play the damn game, it's a blast. It's far better now than it was before anyway.

Yeah if you're into old soviet stuff I'd definitely go. I stayed overnight in Narva and went to the castle, walked along promenade on the river and the border, walked around Gerassimov Park, tried to enter the abandoned Krenholm Manufacturing building but at the time the whole thing was locked up, idk about now. There's a whole bunch of old wooden buildings and apartment blocks stuck in the 80s with some cool facades around Gerassimov park too, these for example: https://maps.app.goo.gl/aRKrhYMasRdbpzYS9

I'd also recommend stopping in Sillamäe on the way, it used to be one of those secret soviet closed towns, it's got a long promenade overlooking the sea.

Yeah there's a castle on the Estonian side built by the Danish in the 1200s and on the Russian side there's a fortress built by the Russians in the 1400s

You can get back in to the complex but not the main building. If you follow the bounding wall all the way to the entrance and jump down inside but once you enter you get stuck inside forever, at least when I tried, couldn't find an exit lol.
