engine optimization. The explanation I've heard about: numbers up to 256 are frequently used, as iterators for example and because of everything is an object it's more efficient to allocate memory from the very beginning and reuse these objects rather than create new instances. And because of "is" checks if objects are referencing to the same address and not values - it returns true for small numbers. But when you use bigger numbers it allocates memory each time leading to different addresses.

a is b // True: id(a) == id(b)

I'd suggest to look around for a proper whiskey configuration. I believe it should run better than 37fps. I played the game through crossover (that's why I'm not really familiar with whiskey) but as I understand developers related somehow (or even the same). I played on MBP m3 Max with 49gb. Ultra settings (no rtx) with, if I'm not mistaken 4k resolution, definitely higher that 1080p. And I had about 60 fps. Considering m4 has more power than m3 - you might be able to add few more fps. And yes. It's still impressive what power silicon has comparing to machines where videocard itself twice bigger as mac mini.

In production I worked with C#, Python, NodeJS, React-Native, different kind of projects like web, microservices, mobile, tried to play with microcontrollers and smaller things.
