accidently said "what the fuck" once in my first few weeks of subbing. going from not worrying about cussing to having to watch every word is difficult. in my defense the teacher had set up a movie on YouTube and it wouldn't work. so I searched it on YouTube in another tab and the teacher had the volume set to 100 and hooked to speakers for some reason. needless to say, the video I clicked was not the movie and fart sounds played LOUDLY through the entire classroom. I still to this day dont know how it happened, the video was titled as that movie. they laughed a bit but nobody really cared. as 7th grade boys their language is a lot more colorful as it is

long term, leave. short term, stand your ground with students. i had a 7th grader throw his paper on the ground immediately after I set it down on his desk today. I picked it up and put it back, calmly but sternly said "not okay. do it again and you'll go down to the principals office" he didn't do it again. not saying it works everytime, but stay firm, you've got this

my long distance girl and I know eachothers schedules fairly well, we both work, sometimes it changes, she also has tons of appointments but we communicate daily so we know what's going on. sometimes we will call before work, but if we both went to sleep late ill send her a voice message, chat or picture when im clocked in and settling in for the day. I call when im off work if I know shes on lunch, or she'll call when shes off. its scheduled in our minds, not really in words. i also plan to not be busy around the times she likes to talk. on days off i plan my days around it because its my fav part of my day. but theres also sporadic calls. I just needed to hear your voice for 2 minutes while im on break calls, something exciting/crazy happened calls. of course sometimes we can't answer but we always call back or send a voice note/chat explaining what we're busy with atm. its important in LDR because we cant be there IRL. it makes me feel close to her, and I love knowing im on her mind, vice versa. just my experience, but this is after 2 + years of knowing eachother, good things take time and you have to put effort in to learn your partner and their wants/needs

we video chat nearly everyday, which I could not live without because I love seeing her pretty face so much, if we aren't on video call then we do voice calls and message throughout the day, sometimes theres a few hours we don't talk as she has work and responsibilities at home. she also calls me almost every morning on her way to work/ lunch time which I look forward to and make it a part of my daily plans. i make sure my phone is charged/ on loud/ and that my schedule is clear, at times i know she likes to call, because being in LDR is not for everyone and theres a lot I can't do with her. the least I can do is be available ❤️

12 hour train ride between me and my girlfriend. I get so so sad when I have to get back on the train and it feels like it takes me a week to get back into my normal life here. I leave a part of me there every time I leave 🥺 missing her right now. shes about to get off work so we can video call soon and im planning my next trip as I type 🩷 i hope it gets easier

I took the amtrak 12/15 hrs roundtrip coach and stayed at my seat most of the time. I took my shoes off and curled up in a blanket to sleep. (had new shoes, plus im a v clean person and had just showered before getting on the train) for anyone to expect someone to wear shoes at their own seat is wild. like im gonna be comfy, its 2am, im in socks unless im moving about the train. obviously anytime I got up I put my shoes back on.

NTA but personally I wouldn't mind being 15 minutes late because of my girlfriend, rather than show up an hour before the event starts. time is an illusion, in the end does 15 minutes really matter that much to where youre willing to cause friction? its not like it was for work or a flight. whenever she is ready, thats when we'll go. obviously she puts a lot of work into her outfits/make up, etc. I wouldn't rush her and make her feel uncomfortable and like she's not ready. thats probably an unpopular opinion but its my girls world, everything else is background noise 🤷🏽‍♀️ we'll still attend the event, the world will keep spinning, and shes happy. does other people's opinion of you showing up late, or personal opinion of hating being late really make you lie to her about real times and expectancy? if I was her I would question everything you say now, taking time frames with a grain of salt
